The undisputed queen of punk cabaret performs for one night only in the Opera Theatre at Sydney Opera House.
“The entire night left the crowd speechless until the very end, some on the verge of tears as they applauded as loudly as possible.” Rip It Up
You saw her last time up close and personal in The Studio, now come and see the goddess of punk cabaret fill the soaring sails of the Opera Theatre.
Amanda will be accompanied by a string quartet as she performs two hours of music, including her solo work, The Dresden Dolls song catalogue and some quirky covers.
No two Amanda Palmer concerts are the same. Amanda provides a unique concert experience each time she takes the stage through her story-telling, improvisation and by encouraging crowd participation to the fullest degree.
While Amanda is known to take song requests, she engages the audience beyond her musical performance by answering questions on stage submitted by the audience in her routine "Ask Amanda" portion of her set.
Amanda Palmer came to fame as the frontwoman for alternative legends The Dresden Dolls. After five years on the road with them, she released her first solo album Who Killed Amanda Palmer – produced by the equally legendary Ben Folds.
Last year she brought the songs from that album for three sold-out shows in The Studio.
This time, we are proud to offer a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness Amanda Palmer solo in the cathedral-like acoustics of the Opera Theatre.
