After-hours crowd falls in love with Late Night Lounge
Sydney Opera House announces new host and August line-up
Night owls have taken note and the uber-cool after-hours club at Sydney Opera House has become one of the hottest tickets in town.
Late Night Lounge is a monthly rock ‘n’ roll, variety, cabaret experience that brings together both the famous and the infamous artists performing across the harbour city.
Sydney Opera House created the signature series in February and with the first six events selling out, Late Night Lounge has been extended until the end of the year.
With a different line up each month, the edgy and dynamic series is always good fun so audiences have come to expect the unexpected.
For the next event on August 7, the line up includes the flamboyant and controversial singer Jeff Duff, Sydney soul and jazz diva Tina Harrod, stand-up comic Claire Hooper (Good News Week) the pure velvet sounds of Steve Clisby and magician Adam Mada, star of the upcoming Ch 9 series The Real Hustle.
Past Late Night Loungers include Angus & Julia Stone, Tex Perkins, Katie Noonan, Charlie Pickering, iOTA, Paul Capsis and Jenny Morris, to name just a few.
Keeping a loose rein on the monthly party for the next three months will be new MC Libbi Gorr with a red-hot house band under the musical direction of Matt McMahon.
Guests can purchase supper and chill with a drink as we sample stories and songs, moves and grooves, familiar faces and secret surprise guests.
