Sydney will be seduced by the husky tones of Lady Carol when she brings her five-star award-winning show, All Alone, Together, to the Sydney Opera House for five shows only.
Audiences will be left spellbound by this sultry Irish songstress whose the beauty, talent and fragile grace eschews showbiz conventions.
With ukulele in hand, Lady Carol twists and teases a unique collection of cool classics – from Radiohead’s Creep to Erasure’s I Love to Hate You.
She will also perform her own original songs interspersed with humorous and quirky stories gently told.
The starring light of the Adelaide Fringe and Brisbane Festival hit, A Company of Strangers, for her Sydney debut Lady Carol will be accompanied by local legends Alister Spence on piano and Toby Hall on drums.
Born and raised in Dublin, Carol didn’t venture into performing until she went to London at the age of 21.
She started making appearances at jazz clubs and became entrenched in the alternative music scene working with various local bands and promoters on the circuit.
After a brief stay back in Dublin, she returned to work at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2006 where she used her feminine wiles to secure a guest-spot on Fullmooners.
Wowing the audience and performer alike she was immediately offered a permanent home on the travelling circus show and bestowed the title of “Lady”.
Described by Broadway critics as “a chanteuse, crafting hits from the past with a ukulele into sublime and slightly sinister soulful songs”, Lady Carol is a truly individual performer.
Having already made a significant impact in her short time in the industry, there is no doubt her star will continue to rise.
"Gorgeous, comedic, ukulele-playing, strange song-singing Lady Carol...you’ll love her" Time Out, UK
