When His Watch Stopped
28 August, The Playhouse
Sydney Opera House presents When His Watch Stopped by Korea’s world-renowned Sadari Theatre Company on Saturday 28 August, as part of Kids at the House.
When His Watch Stopped was inspired by the thoughts and drawings by children touched by war in the book ‘I Dream of Peace – Images of War by Children of Former Yugoslavia”.
Using masked performance, striking visual art, mime and imagery, When His Watch Stopped tells the heart-wrenching story of a newly married couple who are torn apart by war.
Told from the perspective of a child’s understanding, this charming and tender production confronts a complex issue with compassion and superb theatrical interpretation. As a non text based work, When His Watch Stopped is accessible to everyone and truly moving.
