HOUSE:MATES GIVING TREE APPEAL 2007
To celebrate the spirit of the holiday season, Sydney Opera House has a Giving Tree on the ground floor of Customs House at Circular Quay.
Staff and the general public can donate gifts, or volunteer their time, to Sydney Opera House’s charity partners which will then be distributed to families and animals in need.
The initiative is part of HOUSE:mates, Sydney Opera House’s workplace giving program, with this year’s charities including The Benevolent Society, Beyond Blue, BoysTown, Cancer Council NSW, OzGREEN, Redkite and the RSPCA.
Tags with suggested gift ideas can be found in buckets next to the Giving Tree on the ground floor.
People are asked to take the unwrapped gift to Level 3 of Customs House between 8.30am and 5pm Monday to Friday.
But don’t forget to decorate the tree with the tag – we’re hoping to see hundred of tags representing the number of gifts being given.
“What better way to get into the real spirit of the season than by giving to those less fortunate” Interim Sydney Opera House CEO Sue Nattrass said.
“So many of us are so lucky to live in this country – let’s share the joy and the love.”
The presents collected will be given to the charities the week before Christmas.
