Two of Europe’s finest maestros of magic will shock and surprise even the most hardline sceptic when they return to Australia with their brand new show, Holy Cow.
Too many TV specials may have spoiled the illusion of this ancient art, but V.I.P Magic’s Rob Mollien and Emiel Lensen have a few good tricks up their sleeves and personality in spades.
A hit at the 2007 Adelaide Fringe Festival, these nine-time winners of the Dutch Magic Championships will bring their cocktail of comedy, magic, theatre and cabaret to Sydney for the first time.
Letting the audience in on a trick or two, Holy Cow is a magic show like no other.
A feel-good display of pure entertainment, your jaw will repeatedly hit the floor as V.I.P Magic pull off trick after spectacular trick that will leave you wondering “just how did they do that?”
From sleight of hand to mind-boggling mentalism, Holy Cow is a rollercoaster ride for all ages in which all styles of magic appear and disappear.
Their most famous act, The Sixth Sense, plays on Rob’s psychic abilities. In a world of telepathy and extreme sensibility, this mind teaser will undoubtedly unnerve.
V.I.P stands for vingervlug (dexterity of hands), interactief (interactive) and persoonlijk (personal)… and you’ll see just how dextrous they are when the cards start flying.
Rob and Emiel first met as solo artists on the European magic circuit. A former butcher and wannabe musician respectively, they were both invited to perform in Hollywood at the same time so decided to assist one another.
Hitting it off they decided to work together full-time and after wowing audiences and critics in their home country they went on to place third at the World Championships of Magic in Sweden in 2006.
