Pursuant to Sydney Opera House’s legal obligations under the Smoke-Free Environment Act 2000 (NSW) and Smoke-Free Environment Regulations 2000 (NSW), smoking is banned in the covered area of the vehicle concourse including outside Stage Door. Security is authorised to enforce this policy and all staff and contractors are to follow the directions of member of Security in this regard.
While the covered area under the western Colonnade is not a Smoke Free Area under the Act, that area is frequented by patrons. Accordingly, this policy extends to prohibiting all staff and contractors from smoking under the western Colonnade.
