SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE PRESENTS
THE FLAMENCO SENSATION GALA FLAMENCA
In an Australian premiere, the renowned group of Spanish dancers - Belén Maya Manuel Liñán, Olga Pericet, Marco Flores and Daniel Doña - will bring the mystery, passion and excitement of the timeless art of flamenco to Sydney in Gala Flamenca. These sensational performances will be at the Concert Hall, Sydney Opera House for two nights only on Monday 29 and Tuesday 30 October.
With their stunning technique, lightning feet and evocative music, the five stars of Gala Flamenca are renowned for the purity of their flamenco style. Surrounding the astonishing talent of Belén Maya, these great exponents of contemporary Flamenco perform solo signature pieces as well as ensemble pieces. All the artists have featured in both the New York and London Flamenco Festivals and together were hailed as ‘elegant, ferocious and charismatic’ by the Washington Post.
Accompanied by traditional song and music performed by four traditional musicians and two singers, this outstanding flamenco celebration combines soulfulness and intimacy along with moments of explosive emotion and spectacular drama. With the traditional driving rhythms of foot-stamping performance along with flamboyant bursts of innovative style, Gala Flamenca presents flamenco at its most powerful and creative.
Gala Flamenca is an evening of passion, mystery and celebration not to be missed!
