INSPIRING MUSICAL EXPERIENCES
The Sydney Symphony’s 2013 season is open for subscriptions. If the sheer power of live orchestral music inspires your imagination, excites your senses and satisfies your soul, then this is a season of concerts for you.
• Awesome music by favourite composers – Beethoven, Mozart, Brahms, Sibelius, Tchaikovsky, and many more.
• Leading international artists, including our Principal Conductor Vladimir Ashkenazy, violinist Pinchas Zukerman and soprano Lisa Gasteen, as well as pianist Murray Perahia in a hot-ticket solo recital.
• Exotic music from China and Latin America, jazz inspirations, singer-songwriter Lior, and film music such as Tan Dun’s Martial Arts Trilogy(based on his music for The Banquet, Hero and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the Kingon a massive screen with live orchestra and choirs.

Company Overview
The Sydney Symphony is the resident orchestra at the Sydney Opera House, performing nearly 100 concerts each year in the Concert Hall. We also tour frequently to other cities and regional areas of New South Wales, and our international tours have taken us to Europe, North America and Asia.
Formed in 1932 by the ABC, the Sydney Symphony celebrated its 80th anniversary season in 2012. Read a short history of the orchestra.
