INSPIRING MUSICAL EXPERIENCES
People have always found joy in listening to live music in inspiring places. Perhaps it inspires you to think differently about the world. Perhaps it transports you to a special place. Perhaps it gives you some special ‘me’ time. You both listen to and feel great music: its joy, despair, soaring statements and quiet meditations.
Chief Conductor David Robertson and the musicians of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra invite you to explore the music by subscribing to an exhilarating 2015 Season.
Hear the music of your favourite composers – Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Schumann, Sibelius, Dvořák, Shostakovich, Wagner and more.
See phenomenal guest soloists – violinists Anne-Sophie Mutter, Gil Shaham, Janine Jansen and Christian Tetzlaff; pianists Yuja Wang, Peter Serkin, Louis Lortie and Kirill Gerstein; singers such as Audra McDonald, Christine Brewer, Simon O’Neill and Teddy Tahu Rhodes.
Experience incredible projects such as Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde – an opera in the Concert Hall with exciting visuals projected above the orchestra; Romeo & Juliet with Bell Shakespeare – Prokofiev’s ballet music with excerpts from Shakespeare’s play; and our season opening gala, Beethoven’s Ninth with the famous Ode to Joy.
