Season Overview
Welcome to another glorious season of fine choral music, presented by Sydney Philharmonia Choirs.
Our 2012 season has something for everyone. Whether you like the classics, new and contemporary works, toe-tapping show-tunes, grand opera or simply the voice in its purest form, a cappella, our season has it.
Highlights include: Rachmaninov’s Vespers, Frank Martin’s Mass for Double Choir , CPE Bach’s Magnificat, plus two brand new works written for our 2012 season: Rautavaara’s Missa a cappella and Andrew Ford’s Waiting for the Barbarians.
Be seduced by the words and melodies of Rodgers and Hammerstein, or enjoy a new take on The Beatles with iconic Australian artist iOTA. You can even sing with us in ChorusOz® Carmen!
We are giving Handel's Messiah a rest this year (don’t worry – it will be back!) as we go on a journey to discover the real Santa Claus in Britten’s sparkling cantata St. Nicolas alongside the best of British Christmas fare.
Our skilled choristers sing for the sheer love of what they do, so do join us for another magical year of great music making with the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs.
