Sydney Opera House - How to Book

ACCOUNT REGISTRATION 

  1. If you have previously purchased tickets from Sydney Opera House, you will already be a registered customer, and it is best to log-in before selecting your event.
  2. If you are not already a Sydney Opera House customer, you will be prompted to register as part of making a purchase or you can register now.

 

SEARCH FOR AN EVENT

There are a variety of ways you can search for events on our website including by keyword, date, event type and venue. You can also browse highlights, Sydney Opera House and Resident Company programs.

  1. Search for a performance or tour by entering your search term in the Quick Search box in the top left corner of the homepage.
  2. Browse by event type, Sydney Opera House program, Resident Company on the EVENTS menu from anywhere on the site.
  3. On the What's On tab on the homepage you can browse genre highlights using the sliding bar or conduct an advanced search by adding search criteria on the right-hand side of the page.
  4. The What's On page will display a listing of What's On This Week. You can conduct an advanced search on this page by adding search criteria on the left-hand side of the page.

 

BUYING A TICKET

1. Choose a date  

Once you are on an event page, you will see a calendar on the right-hand side. If a performance season spans more than one month, you can change which month you're viewing by     clicking the down arrow next to the month. Select your chosen month and click GO.

The dates that are highlighted in the calendar are dates performances for this event are taking place. Note that some performances (in particular ballet and opera) have seasons that span multiple months. Use the month drop-down selection and click go to change months (see above).

Select your preferred date by clicking on it.

 

2. Select the performance time  

Once you have selected and clicked on a date, performance times for that date will appear underneath the calendar.

Select your preferred performance time. Note you need to click on the peformance time even if there is only one performance time for that day.

Once you have selected your date and time, click the BUY TICKETS button below the calendar and time selection to continue with your purchase.

 

3. Select your seat/s 

If you have a promotional code for this performance, enter it in the Promotional Code box on the right-hand side of the page. Note that promo codes are not essential to make a purchase. If you do not have one, just leave the box blank and proceed with your selection.

Some performances give you the option to Select Your Own Seat. When you hover over seats on the Select Your Own Seat map you will be presented with price, reserve and other important information (such as sound and/or visual restrictions) related to that seat.

If you do not wish to Select Your Own Seat, you can click for Best Available.

 

4. Proceed to Shopping Cart 

Once you have made your seat and ticket selection you will be taken to the shopping cart. Here you can review your purchase, add or remove items, redeem a Gift Voucher, add more tickets, add Gift Vouchers, add a Tour or a Dining or Accommodation Package. 

Once you are happy with your selection, click CONTINUE.

 

5. Log-in/Register 

If you are not already logged-in, you will now be prompted to do so. If you are a new customer, you will need to register by clicking the REGISTER NOW button.

Once logged-in you will need to enter your delivery and payment details. Please ensure you check all your items in the shopping cart before completing your transaction. At this stage you are required to check a box that indicates you have read and accept the Terms & Conditions of sale.

 

6. Submit your order 

Once order has been submitted you will receive a confirmation email with details of your purchase. Please check this carefully.

Depending on which delivery method you selected your tickets will be mailed to you (allow up to 10 working days) or they will be held at the Box Office for collection. If tickets are being held for collection, it is not necessary to bring a copy of the confirmation email. However, the order number, the credit card used to make the purchase and photographic identification are required to collect your tickets.
