The first Danish cohort of students to participate in MADE by the Opera House has now been announced.
MADE by the Opera House received 60 applications from students from Danish tertiary institutions in the field of architecture, engineering and design. The five winning Danish students come from tertiary institutions across Denmark, are highly capable within their respective fields, share an interest in multidisciplinary design and possess high-level collaborative and communication skills.
The five winning Danish students are:
- Caroline Richardt Beck, Bachelor of Architecture, The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation (School of Architecture)
- Karina Korsgaard Jensen, Master of Communication Design, Kolding School of Design Pernille Krieger, Bachelor of Architectural Engineering, Aarhus University (School of Engineering)
- Jakob Franijeur Holmquist-Larsen, Master of Architecture, The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts - Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation (School of Architecture)
- Jonas Snedevind Nielsen, Master of Architectural Engineering, Aalborg University (Faculty of Architecture & Design)
The Danish students will travel to Australia for six weeks in July and August 2014. They will collaborate on a real-life multidisciplinary project with Sydney Opera House and receive professional mentorship by Arup, Steensen Varming and a Sydney architectural firm.
