Our aim at Sydney Opera House is to offer something for everyone – every day! Across six stages you will see live performance including circus, cabaret, puppetry, comedy, burlesque, indigenous film, world music, chamber music, hip hop, jazz, contemporary dance, experimental theatre, world-renowned performers and new talent alike.
How we do it?
So that more people can enjoy the magic of performance, Sydney Opera House subsidises tickets to our own programs by an average of 56%. For example, for our children’s production of Goodbye Mr Muffin this year, instead of paying $55 a ticket you only pay $14 per ticket*. By keeping the ticket price down, more people can experience live performance every day.
Sydney Opera House is a non-profit organisation which receives only a small portion of its total operating budget from government. To subsidise ticket prices we fundraise through commercial ventures, sponsorship and through donations to our Annual Giving Program.
