What is the Annual Giving Program?
Our Annual Giving Program raises funds for initiatives that help us share the magic of live performance with as many people as possible.
Our four key investment areas are:

Why do we do it?
While Sydney Opera House is perhaps the most famous performance venue in the world, we are a not-for-profit operation and consequently rely heavily on community support. You may be surprised to learn that we receive less than 18% of our annual operating income from the Government and ticket sales cover only a fraction of the cost of presenting the diverse programs we offer.

Large or small, all contributions will help make a difference and donations of $2 and above receive a tax deductible receipt. It is also important to mention that our Annual Giving Program endeavours to acknowledge and inform donors wherever possible. All donors are recognised on our online

, on-site plasma screen Honour Wall and in the Sydney Opera House Annual Report at the time of publication.* In addition, donors are kept up to date with important House news and developments.
