Sydney Opera House

The Clara Varga Foundation is a living memory of a very special woman with a great passion for the arts, and commitment to education. Sydney Opera House was pleased to partner with The Clara Varga Foundation in 2007 in order to honour the memory through the Arts Assist Program.

The Arts Assist Program was designed to address the main barriers to attendance of live performances for NSW Priority Schools. To overcome these barriers, the program offers substantially discounted tickets to educational performances and free transport for students at these schools. 

Supporting Sydney Opera House's Arts Assist program is Clara Varga's legacy to provide the magic of live performance to children who may never had the opportunity to experience it.

The Clara Varga Foundation’s support of the Arts Assist Program in 2007 has assisted Sydney Opera House in helping 1800 students attend a House:Ed performance. Without this support, children like Cindy, Cathy and Raphael may not have had the opportunity to come to an education performance at Sydney Opera House.

"I would like to say thank you for letting our school visit the wonderful Opera House and listen to the strong orchestra. I enjoyed it when the orchestra played lots of fantastic songs because it made me want to learn violin." Cindy
