John Holland
John Holland was established in Victoria in 1949. Since then the company has delivered some of the nation’s most iconic projects from Parliament House in Canberra and the MCG’s Great Southern Stand to the more recent award-winning Alice Springs to Darwin Railway Line, the Lane Cove Tunnel and the Eastlink Tollway.

As one of Australia’s largest and most diverse specialist contracting businesses, John Holland’s capabilities include a depth of expertise tunnelling, mining, services, power, communications, water, structural mechanical process, rail and roads.  This is integrated with an unparalleled local knowledge in each of the four regional construction businesses spanning the country.

John Holland is currently delivering some of the nation’s most impressive infrastructure projects, from major tunnels, roadways, hospitals, university campuses and sports venues, through to telecommunications networks and water desalination and treatment plants.

John Holland was awarded the Sydney Opera House Accessibility and Western Foyers construction contract in September 2007. This work includes the refurbishment of the Western Foyers, a new large passenger lift and two escalators. The construction program is staged to suit the operations at Sydney Opera House and involves complex planning and sequencing of work. This is the largest contract undertaken at the House since Jørn Utzon’s re-engagement in 1999. The work is due for completion in 2009.
