 Sydney Opera House Ticket Terms & Conditions

1. Attendance at the event is subject to these terms and conditions. Another company may be presenting the performance and this ticket is subject to any conditions for that activity and/or the venue.

2. If the amount you pay for this ticket is incorrect, Sydney Opera House may cancel this ticket (or the order for this ticket) and refund to you the amount you paid. This applies regardless of whether the error arose due to: (i) an error in a price communicated to you; or if you are able to order a ticket, or a ticket for a performance, that was not supposed to have been released for sale; or (ii) human error or a transactional malfunction of a Sydney Opera House operated system. If Sydney Opera House cancels this ticket, it may offer a replacement ticket to you at the correct price.

3. Refunds for performance tickets are payable in accordance with the  Live Performance Australia Ticketing Code of Practice - Consumer Code. Exchanges for performance tickets or the replacement of lost, stolen or missing tickets may be permitted under certain conditions and fees may apply. Tickets for a cancelled guided tour may be refunded or transferred to another tour.

4. The right of admission is reserved by the management. Children aged 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times.Latecomers will not be able to join a tour and may only be admitted to a performance during a suitable break, which could be the first interval (if an interval is scheduled). In some cases, latecomers may not be admitted at all.

5. Venue access and the route for guided tours are subject to venue availability and rehearsal schedules. Ticket holders must remain with the tour guide and follow instructions. There are 200 to 300 stairs on a tour and flat, rubber soled shoes should be worn.

6. Advertised programs or tours may be varied without notice. Artists may be added, withdrawn or substituted for performances and the right to vary prices, venues, seating arrangements and audience capacity is reserved.

7. All bags may be subject to a visual inspection. Any bag larger than a standard size handbag must be cloaked during tours and performances.

8. Camera, video and audio recorders may not be used inside Sydney Opera House, unless expressly authorised. Sydney Opera House reserves the right to broadcast or telecast any event. No food or drink is allowed inside a venue unless specified.

9. Ticket holders enter the venue at their own risk. Sydney Opera house will not be responsible for any loss, damage or injury arising from a pre-existing medical condition or due to breach of these conditions.

10. This ticket may not, without the prior written consent of Sydney Opera House, be resold for commercial packages or at a premium, nor may it be packaged or used for advertising, promotional or other commercial purposes. If a ticket is sold in breach of this condition, the bearer of the ticket may be refused admission. 

 


CLOAKING GUIDELINES

 

All bags may be subject to a visual inspection. Any bag or item larger than a standard-sized handbag must be cloaked during tours and performances.

•To help ensure the safety and security of all patrons, we reserve the right to inspect any bags or personal belongings brought into the venue or cloaked. These searches will be carried out courteously and discreetly.

•Large bags and items including umbrellas and prams can be hazardous to the movement of patrons in darkened theatres and must be cloaked. Cloaking services are available free of charge to all patrons or ticketholders.

•Tour and theatre patrons with extra-large backpacks or suitcases will need to cloak them and register their details at the time of cloaking. This will require: presentation of a valid performance or tour ticket and an acceptable form of photo identification; completion of a short registration form at the cloak room counter; and visual inspection of the luggage by a member of our Security Team.

•Items prohibited in Opera House venues include, but are not limited to, the following: alcohol; glass bottles; laser pens; and any items that could present a safety hazard to others.


 Sydney Opera House Insider Membership Terms and Conditions   

1. As an Insider Member you are bound by these Terms and Conditions. Application for Insider Membership is deemed to be acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. Sydney Opera House Trust (we or us) has the right to reject any application to participate in the Insider Membership program.

2. Insider Membership is non-transferable and non-refundable.

3. Use of the Insider Membership Card is limited to the person named on the card. You may request us to supply an additional card (at a cost of $10) for an additional nominated person who resides at your address. Proof of address may be required at time of application. The additional card will bear the nominee’s name and will allow the nominee to enjoy the Insider Membership benefits offered by us and our friends and partners (excluding the annual free benefits). You will be responsible for the use of the additional card by the additional cardholder.

 4. Sydney Opera House Insider Membership is designed for the benefit of individual patrons of the Sydney Opera House. It is not intended for those representing social, corporate, concierge or tourism organisations and all benefits are not intended for resale individually or as part of a package. As standard, a limit of 10 tickets applies per performance per Insider Membership unless otherwise stipulated. Other limitations may apply including on the number of tickets that can be purchased at a discount or during Super Priority presales may be applied.

5. Insider Membership may be cancelled, and all benefits of membership revoked, by us at our discretion if we have reason to believe the member is acting contrary to these Terms and Conditions or Sydney Opera House’s Ticket Terms & Conditions and can be viewed above.

6. We may sometimes add to, change or remove benefits and offers and their associated terms and conditions as well as the provisions of these Insider Membership Terms & Conditions. These offers are subject to change without notice. Details of all changes will be available at Insider Benefits and Offers.

7. If we decide to discontinue the Insider Membership Program, you will be notified and we will continue to offer you Insider Membership benefits until your membership expires. Insider Membership Cards are and remain the property of Sydney Opera House and must be returned to us on demand.

8. You need to advise us if your Insider Membership card is lost or stolen. Please contact Insiders at 9250 7750 or email  insiders@sydneyoperahouse.com. 

9. You also need to advise us if you change your name, address or other details by contacting us on Insiders at 9250 7750 or email  insiders@sydneyoperahouse.com. 

10. We may choose to not enforce some of these terms in some cases. That does not mean that we have waived our rights in respect to those terms. Any waiver by us must be in writing.
 
11. If any of these terms cannot be enforced, the remaining terms will survive.

12. We will use your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy which can be view at sydneyoperahouse.com/privacystatement.

13. Ticket discounts are offered on selected shows and are subject to change. Ticket Terms & Conditions of sale and entry apply and can be viewed above.

14. Some third-party benefits are only available at selected shops or on selected products and services. These offers are subject to change without notice. We are not responsible for the performance of third parties in relation to any offer or service. Third-party benefits are correct at time of printing. 

 


WIN THE ULTIMATE KIDS AT THE HOUSE MULTI-SHOW PACKAGE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Information on how to enter and the prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions of entry. Participation in this competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

2. The Promoter is Sydney Opera House Trust, Bennelong Point, Sydney NSW 2000. (ABN 69 712 101 035), (+612) 9250 7111.

3. Entry is open to residents of Australia over the age of eighteen. Employees and their immediate families of the Promoter and agencies and companies associated with this competition are not eligible to enter.

4. The competition commences on Monday 24th November 9am Australian Eastern Standard time (AEST) and will close at Monday 8 December 5pm AEST.

5. You may only enter the competition once. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any incomplete or automated entries. Multiple entries from the same IP address, same email address or from automated competition entry services are invalid.

6. To enter the competition, you must visit Kids at the House online and select the three performances within the 2015 season you would choose for your ultimate multi-show package. Email the names of the three performances you would choose for your ultimate multi-show package to kidsatthehouse@sydneyoperahouse.com and in 25 words or less, tell us why this would be your ultimate multi-show package. All entries must also include the entrants full name, address and phone number. Entries without full contact details (including mailing address, email address and telephone number) will be considered incomplete and void.

7. This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in selection of the winners. Winners will be chosen by a panel of judges on Tuesday 2 December 10 am at Level 3, 31 Alfred Street Circular Quay based on the best response received as chosen by the judges. Judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The prize is:

First prize: A family pass (4 tickets) to the three performances selected for your ultimate multi-show package.
Two runners up will receive a family pass (4 Tickets) to one of the performances selected in their ultimate multi-show package.

Each prize is dependent on availability and is at the discretion of Sydney Opera House. Should availability be limited or the adequate number of tickets not be available within any of the selected performance seasons, tickets to an alternate performance season will be offered. Performances of Out of the Blue are excluded from this competition, should they be listed as a selection in a winning entry, an alternate performance season will be offered.

8. The Promoter’s decision in relation to any aspects of the competition is final and binding on every person who enters and no correspondence will be entered into.

9. The winner will be notified by email and telephone and the winners name will be published on the Promoters website at Sydney Opera House on Tuesday 9 December and on the Sydney Opera House Facebook and Kids at the House Facebook pages. If, for any reason, a winner does not claim the prize or the contact details supplied by them were incorrect, the Promoter reserves the right to select a second chance prize winner on Wednesday 10 December and that person will be the prize winner.

10. If the competition prize is performance tickets, they must be used on the date stipulated and are not redeemable for cash or transferable to any other person or transferable between dates or times. If the prize is goods, the Promoter is not responsible for providing warranty as to performance of the prize or ongoing support for the prize.

11. Prizes will be sent via standard post or courier to the address provided by the winner or if the prize is performance tickets and the performance is within 10 days from the close of the competition, tickets will be held for collection at the Sydney Opera House Box Office under the winner’s name. Tickets must be collected from the Box Office no later than 30 minutes prior to the performance. Any ticket not collected 30 minutes prior to the performance will be released for sale.

12. The Promoter and companies associated with this promotion will take no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in transit.

13. If for any reason this promotion is cancelled or is not capable of running as planned, due to an intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders its determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the event and recommence it from the start on the same conditions subject to State Regulation.

14. In the event that for any reason whatsoever a winner does not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of the Prize.

15. All winning entries will be published on the Promoter’s various social media and online channels. You warrant that the entry is your original work and that you are the owner of all the material you submit as part of your entry into this Competition (“Entry”) and that your Entry does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party. By entering this competition, you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty free and transferrable licence to use, reproduce, segment, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display and communicate your Entry in any media. You also grant us the right to sub-licence the rights under this licence to any third party deemed appropriate by us. To the extent permitted by law, you consent to Promoter doing anything in relation to the Entry or the communication therein that (but for this consent) would otherwise infringe any moral right or performer’s rights that you might have anywhere in the world. We may promote the competition, including your Entry, in any media during or after the competition. Promotional material may include the use of all or part of your Entry. All Entries used by Promoter will be credited where appropriate.

16. The personal information you provide in entering this competition will be used by the Promoter to conduct the competition. By entering this promotion, you consent to the storage of your personal information on the Promoter’s database and the Promoter may use this information for future promotional and marketing purposes regarding the Promoter’s products including contacting you via electronic messaging. Your name and contact details may also be shared with various third party organisations, including resident companies, presenting partners and our sponsors, who may contact you from time to time regarding promotions. Such organisations must comply with the Promoter’s Privacy Policy and with strict conditions governing how personal information is to be handled including applicable privacy Laws.

SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE INSIDER COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  

 1. Information on how to enter Sydney Opera House INSIDER Member competitions and the prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions of entry. Participation in an Sydney Opera House INSIDER Member competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

3. Entry is open to current Sydney Opera House INSIDER Members at the date of the relevant INSIDER email setting out the competition details. 4. Entry for Sydney Opera House INSIDER Member competitions requires entrants to be at least 18 years old. If you are under 18 years of age, you are not eligible to enter.

 LITTLE BIG SHOTS 2014 COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Information on how to enter and the prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions of entry. Participation in this competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

3. Entry is open to residents of Australia between the ages of 5 – 15 years. Entrants require their parent or legal guardian’s (“Parent”) consent to enter. Employees and their immediate families of the Promoter, and agencies and companies associated with this promotion are not eligible to enter the promotion.

4. The competition commences on Tuesday 12 August 2014 at 9am Australian Eastern Standard time (AEST) and will close on Tuesday 19 August 2014 at 5pm AEST.

5. Each entrant may only enter the competition once. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any incomplete or automated entries. Multiple entries from the same IP address or same email address will only be valid where each entry is for a different named entrant. Entries from automated competition entry services are invalid.

6. To enter the competition:
(a) You need to watch the nominated film Bumper (directed by Ben McCarthy) via the link which is on the Sydney Opera House Facebook page and the Kids at the House (“KATH”) Facebook page;
(b) You need to write a response in fifty words or less that includes a short review of the film and your idea for an original award category (e.g. best use of hairspray) that you would give this film; and
(c) Send your review to kidsatthehouse@sydneyoperahouse.com including the entrant’s first name, last name, age, and the contact telephone number of the Parent.
(d) Each winner must be available to attend:
a. a prior viewing of the selected 2014 films on Wednesday 3 September between 4pm and 6pm AEST at Sydney Opera House during which they will decide which films should be awarded prizes; and
b. the Little Big Shots gala event at The Studio, Sydney Opera House on Friday 5 September from 6pm to 9pm AEST where they will have the opportunity to appear onstage and be interviewed by the hosts.

7. This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in selection of the winners. Six winners will be chosen by a panel of judges at 4pm AEST on Wednesday 20 August 2014 at level 3, Customs House, Circular Quay based on the best response received as chosen by the judges. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Each winner will win one of six places on the children’s judging panel for Little Big Shots 2014 at Sydney Opera House on Friday 5 September 2014. Each winner will be entitled to up to three additional tickets for the gala event on the 5 September 2014.

8. The Promoter’s decision in relation to any aspects of the competition is final and binding on every person who enters and no correspondence will be entered into.

9. The winner will be notified by email and telephone and will be published on the Sydney Opera House website, Sydney Opera House and KATH Facebook pages on Wednesday 20 August 2014. The winners’ names will be identified by first initial, last name and age only. If, for any reason, the winner does not claim the prize or the contact details supplied by them were incorrect, the Promoter reserves the right to draw a second chance prize winner on Thursday 21 August 2014 and that person will be the prize winner.

10. If the competition prize is performance tickets, they must be used on the date stipulated and are not redeemable for cash or transferable to any other person or transferable between dates or times. If the prize is goods, the Promoter is not responsible for providing a warranty as to performance of the prize or ongoing support for the prize.

11. Prizes will be sent via standard post or courier to the address provided by the winner or if the prize is performance tickets and the performance is within ten days from the close of the competition, tickets will be held for collection at the Sydney Opera House Box Office under the winner’s name. Tickets must be collected from the Box Office no later than thirty minutes prior to the performance. Any ticket not collected thirty minutes prior to the performance will be released for sale. The Promoter reserves the right to request photo or other forms of identification to verify the winner’s or their parent/guardian’s identity.

12. The Promoter and companies associated with this promotion will take no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in transit.

13. If for any reason this promotion is cancelled or is not capable of running as planned, due to an intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders its determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the event and recommence it from the start on the same conditions subject to State Regulation.

4.The competition commences on Tuesday, 1 July 2014 at 00:01 Australian Eastern Daylight time (AEDT) and will close at 1:00 pm Australian Eastern Standard time (AEST) on Tuesday, 30 June 2015 (Term).

5. To enter the competition, participants must pay on with their MasterCard or MasterPass wallet when purchasing Sydney Opera House Tours or Tickets.  Purchases can be made online from sydneyoperahouse.com website or app, over the phone or in person.  An entrant’s full details including name, address, phone number and email address must be given at the time of making the purchase.

6. Anyone using their MasterCard or MasterPass wallet to pay in this way during the Term will automatically be entered into a monthly draw to win a $500 Sydney Opera House voucher.  Each monthly draw will consist of entries received during the period which starts from the later of (a) the commencement date of the competition; or (b) 1:01pm on the Monthly Draw Date for the preceding calendar month,  up until the earlier of (c) 1pm of the relevant Monthly Draw Date; or (d) the competition close as set out in clause 4 above.  To be clear, each monthly draw is a discrete draw and entries from preceding calendar months are not included in that calendar month’s draw.

7. 1. Information on how to enter and the prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions of entry. Participation in this competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

2. The Promoter is Sydney Opera House Trust, Bennelong Point, Sydney NSW 2000. (ABN 69 712 101 035), (+612) 9250 7111.  

3. Entry is open to residents of New South Wales over the age of eighteen. Employees and their immediate families of the Promoter and agencies and companies associated with this competition are not eligible to enter.

4. The competition commences on 11am Wednesday 15 April Australian Eastern Standard time (AEST) and will close at 10am Tuesday 21 April AEST.

5. You may only enter the competition once. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any incomplete or automated entries.  Multiple entries from the same IP address, same email address or from automated competition entry services are invalid.

6. To enter the competition, you must email your full name, phone number and address with Australian Museum in the subject line.

7.  Winner/s will be drawn at the Sydney Opera House (Level 3, 31 Alfred St, Circular Quay NSW 2000) at 11am AEST on Tuesday 21 April.  The first 10 valid entries drawn by the judges will win a prize. 5 winners will receive a receive a family pass (2 Adults, 2 Children) to Wildlife Photographer of the Year (Valued at $51).

8. 5 runner ups will receive a double pass to Dinosaur Island and a signed Dinosaur Island poster (Valued at $40).

The Promoter’s decision in relation to any aspects of the competition is final and binding on every person who enters and no correspondence will be entered into.

10.
The winner will be notified by email and telephone and will be published on the Sydney Opera House on Wednesday 22 April.  The winner’s name will be published on the Promoter’s website at Sydney Opera House.  If, for any reason, the winner does not claim the prize or the contact details supplied by them were incorrect, the Promoter reserves the right to draw a second chance prize winner on Friday 24 April and that person will be the prize winner.

If the competition prize is performance tickets, they must be used on the date stipulated and are not redeemable for cash or transferable to any other person or transferable between dates or times.  If the prize is goods, the Promotor is not responsible for providing warranty as to performance of the prize or ongoing support for the prize.

12.
Prizes will be sent via standard post or courier to the address provided by the winner or if the prize is performance tickets and the performance is within 10 days from the close of the competition, tickets will be held for collection at the Sydney Opera House Box Office under the winner’s name. Tickets must be collected from the Box Office no later than 30 minutes prior to the performance. Any ticket not collected 30 minutes prior to the performance will be released for sale.

13.
The Promoter and companies associated with this promotion will take no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in transit.

14.
If for any reason this promotion is cancelled or is not capable of running as planned, due to an intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders its determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the event and recommence it from the start on the same conditions subject to State Regulation.

In the event that for any reason whatsoever a winner does not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of the Prize.

You warrant that the entry is your original work and that you are the owner of all the material you submit as part of your entry into this Competition (“Entry”) and that your Entry does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party. By entering this competition, you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty free and transferrable licence to use, reproduce, segment, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display and communicate your Entry in any media.  You also grant us the right to sub-licence the rights under this licence to any third party deemed appropriate by us.   To the extent permitted by law, you consent to Promoter doing anything in relation to the Entry or the communication therein that (but for this consent) would otherwise infringe any moral right or performer’s rights that you might have anywhere in the world. We may promote the competition, including your Entry, in any media during or after the competition.  Promotional material may include the use of all or part of your Entry.  All Entries used by Promoter will be credited where appropriate.

The personal information you provide in entering this competition will be used by the Promoter to conduct the competition. By entering this promotion, you  consent to the storage of your personal information on the Promoter’s database and the Promoter may use this information for future promotional and marketing purposes regarding the Promoter’s products including contacting you  via electronic messaging. Your name and contact details may also be shared with various third party organisations, including resident companies, presenting partners and our sponsors, who may contact  you from time to time regarding promotions.  Such organisations must comply with the Promoter’s Privacy Policy and with strict conditions governing how personal information is to be handled including applicable privacy Laws.

In case of an emergency the Promoter will use the contact details supplied by you when entering this competition.
