 Sydney Opera House Ticket Terms & Conditions

1. Attendance at the event is subject to these terms and conditions. Another company may be presenting the performance and this ticket is subject to any conditions for that activity and/or the venue.

2. If the amount you pay for this ticket is incorrect, Sydney Opera House may cancel this ticket (or the order for this ticket) and refund to you the amount you paid. This applies regardless of whether the error arose due to: (i) an error in a price communicated to you; or if you are able to order a ticket, or a ticket for a performance, that was not supposed to have been released for sale; or (ii) human error or a transactional malfunction of a Sydney Opera House operated system. If Sydney Opera House cancels this ticket, it may offer a replacement ticket to you at the correct price.

3. Refunds for performance tickets are payable in accordance with the  Live Performance Australia Ticketing Code of Practice - Consumer Code. Exchanges for performance tickets or the replacement of lost, stolen or missing tickets may be permitted under certain conditions and fees may apply. Tickets for a cancelled guided tour may be refunded or transferred to another tour.

4. The right of admission is reserved by the management. Latecomers will not be able to join a tour and may only be admitted to a performance during a suitable break, which could be the first interval (if an interval is scheduled). In some cases, latecomers may not be admitted at all.

5. Venue access and the route for guided tours are subject to venue availability and rehearsal schedules. Ticket holders must remain with the tour guide and follow instructions. There are 200 to 300 stairs on a tour and flat, rubber soled shoes should be worn.

6. Advertised programs or tours may be varied without notice. Artists may be added, withdrawn or substituted for performances and the right to vary prices, venues, seating arrangements and audience capacity is reserved.

7. Any bag or item larger than A4 must be cloaked and may be inspected.

8. Camera, video and audio recorders may not be used inside Sydney Opera House, unless expressly authorised. Sydney Opera House reserves the right to broadcast or telecast any event. No food or drink is allowed inside a venue unless specified.

9. Ticket holders enter the venue at their own risk. Sydney Opera house will not be responsible for any loss, damage or injury arising from a pre-existing medical condition or due to breach of these conditions.

10. This ticket may not, without the prior written consent of Sydney Opera House, be resold for commercial packages or at a premium, nor may it be packaged or used for advertising, promotional or other commercial purposes. If a ticket is sold in breach of this condition, the bearer of the ticket may be refused admission.


 Sydney Opera House Insider Membership Terms and Conditions   

1. As an Insider Member you are bound by these Terms and Conditions. Application for Insider Membership is deemed to be acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. Sydney Opera House Trust (we or us) has the right to reject any application to participate in the Insider Membership program.

2. Insider Membership is non-transferable and non-refundable.

3. Use of the Insider Membership Card is limited to the person named on the card. You may request us to supply an additional card (at a cost of $10) for an additional nominated person who resides at your address. Proof of address may be required at time of application. The additional card will bear the nominee’s name and will allow the nominee to enjoy the Insider Membership benefits offered by us and our friends and partners (excluding the annual free benefits). You will be responsible for the use of the additional card by the additional cardholder.

 4. Sydney Opera House Insider Membership is designed for the benefit of individual patrons of the Sydney Opera House. It is not intended for those representing social, corporate, concierge or tourism organisations and all benefits are not intended for resale individually or as part of a package. As standard, a limit of 10 tickets applies per performance per Insider Membership unless otherwise stipulated. Other limitations may apply including on the number of tickets that can be purchased at a discount or during Super Priority presales may be applied.

5. Insider Membership may be cancelled, and all benefits of membership revoked, by us at our discretion if we have reason to believe the member is acting contrary to these Terms and Conditions or Sydney Opera House’s Ticket Terms & Conditions and can be viewed at  http://www.sydneyoperahouse.com/terms as well as any other applicable terms of use.

6. We may sometimes add to, change or remove benefits and offers and their associated terms and conditions as well as the provisions of these Insider Membership Terms & Conditions. These offers are subject to change without notice. Details of all changes will be available at  http://www.sydneyoperahouse.com/terms.

7. If we decide to discontinue the Insider Membership Program, you will be notified and we will continue to offer you Insider Membership benefits until your membership expires. Insider Membership Cards are and remain the property of Sydney Opera House and must be returned to us on demand.

8. You need to advise us if your Insider Membership card is lost or stolen. Please contact Insiders at 9250 7750 or email  insiders@sydneyoperahouse.com. 

9. You also need to advise us if you change your name, address or other details by contacting us on Insiders at 9250 7750 or email  insiders@sydneyoperahouse.com. 

10. We may choose to not enforce some of these terms in some cases. That does not mean that we have waived our rights in respect to those terms. Any waiver by us must be in writing.
 
11. If any of these terms cannot be enforced, the remaining terms will survive.

12. We will use your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy which can be view at sydneyoperahouse.com/privacystatement.

13. Ticket discounts are offered on selected shows and are subject to change. Ticket Terms & Conditions of sale and entry apply and can be viewed at  http://www.sydneyoperahouse.com/terms.

14. Some third-party benefits are only available at selected shops or on selected products and services. These offers are subject to change without notice. We are not responsible for the performance of third parties in relation to any offer or service. Third-party benefits are correct at time of printing.

 


 
SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE INSIDER COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS
  

 1. Information on how to enter Sydney Opera House INSIDER Member competitions and the prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions of entry. Participation in an Sydney Opera House INSIDER Member competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

3. Entry is open to current Sydney Opera House INSIDER Members at the date of the relevant INSIDER email setting out the competition details. Employees of the Promoter and their immediate families, associated agencies of this promotion and companies associated with this promotion are not eligible to enter the promotions.
 
4. Entry for Sydney Opera House INSIDER Member competitions requires entrants to be at least 18 years old. If you are under 18 years of age, you are not eligible to enter.
 
5. Sydney Opera House INSIDER Members, who have previously won an INSIDER competition prize within the last 3 months, are not eligible to enter.
 
6. The competition commences on the specified date and will close at Midnight on the end date specified within the Sydney Opera House INSIDER Member email.
 
7. Each email entry must follow the format of the competition requirements detailed in the Sydney Opera House INSIDER Member email and must include Membership number and Name to prove validity of Member.
 
8. Each Sydney Opera House INSIDER Member can have one entry into the competition, unless otherwise stipulated within the Sydney Opera House INSIDER Member email. However, the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any incomplete or automated entries. Multiple entries from the same IP address, same email address or from automated competition entry services are invalid.
 
9. The winning entry/entries will be randomly drawn from all eligible entries received by the closing date.

 LITTLE BIG SHOTS 2014 COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Information on how to enter and the prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions of entry. Participation in this competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

2. The Promoter is Sydney Opera House Trust, Bennelong Point, Sydney NSW 2000. (ABN 69 712 101 035), (+612) 9250 7111.

3. Entry is open to residents of Australia between the ages of 5 – 15 years. Entrants require their parent or legal guardian’s (“Parent”) consent to enter. Employees and their immediate families of the Promoter, and agencies and companies associated with this promotion are not eligible to enter the promotion.

4. The competition commences on Tuesday 12 August 2014 at 9am Australian Eastern Standard time (AEST) and will close on Tuesday 19 August 2014 at 5pm AEST.

5. Each entrant may only enter the competition once. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any incomplete or automated entries. Multiple entries from the same IP address or same email address will only be valid where each entry is for a different named entrant. Entries from automated competition entry services are invalid.

6. To enter the competition:
(a) You need to watch the nominated film Bumper (directed by Ben McCarthy) via the link which is on the Sydney Opera House Facebook page and the Kids at the House (“KATH”) Facebook page;
(b) You need to write a response in fifty words or less that includes a short review of the film and your idea for an original award category (e.g. best use of hairspray) that you would give this film; and
(c) Send your review to kidsatthehouse@sydneyoperahouse.com including the entrant’s first name, last name, age, and the contact telephone number of the Parent.
(d) Each winner must be available to attend:
a. a prior viewing of the selected 2014 films on Wednesday 3 September between 4pm and 6pm AEST at Sydney Opera House during which they will decide which films should be awarded prizes; and
b. the Little Big Shots gala event at The Studio, Sydney Opera House on Friday 5 September from 6pm to 9pm AEST where they will have the opportunity to appear onstage and be interviewed by the hosts.

7. This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in selection of the winners. Six winners will be chosen by a panel of judges at 4pm AEST on Wednesday 20 August 2014 at level 3, Customs House, Circular Quay based on the best response received as chosen by the judges. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Each winner will win one of six places on the children’s judging panel for Little Big Shots 2014 at Sydney Opera House on Friday 5 September 2014. Each winner will be entitled to up to three additional tickets for the gala event on the 5 September 2014.

8. The Promoter’s decision in relation to any aspects of the competition is final and binding on every person who enters and no correspondence will be entered into.

9. The winner will be notified by email and telephone and will be published on the Sydney Opera House website, Sydney Opera House and KATH Facebook pages on Wednesday 20 August 2014. The winners’ names will be identified by first initial, last name and age only. If, for any reason, the winner does not claim the prize or the contact details supplied by them were incorrect, the Promoter reserves the right to draw a second chance prize winner on Thursday 21 August 2014 and that person will be the prize winner.

10. If the competition prize is performance tickets, they must be used on the date stipulated and are not redeemable for cash or transferable to any other person or transferable between dates or times. If the prize is goods, the Promotor is not responsible for providing a warranty as to performance of the prize or ongoing support for the prize.

11. Prizes will be sent via standard post or courier to the address provided by the winner or if the prize is performance tickets and the performance is within ten days from the close of the competition, tickets will be held for collection at the Sydney Opera House Box Office under the winner’s name. Tickets must be collected from the Box Office no later than thirty minutes prior to the performance. Any ticket not collected thirty minutes prior to the performance will be released for sale. The Promoter reserves the right to request photo or other forms of identification to verify the winner’s or their parent/guardian’s identity.

12. The Promoter and companies associated with this promotion will take no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in transit.

13. If for any reason this promotion is cancelled or is not capable of running as planned, due to an intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders its determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the event and recommence it from the start on the same conditions subject to State Regulation.

16. By entering this competition, your Parent:
(a) consents to the Promoter recording and photographing the Entrant’s participation in the children’s judging panel for Little Big Shots 2014 and using those publicity images in any media to promote Little Big Shots, Sydney Opera House’s KATH program and the work of Sydney Opera House generally; and
(b) grants the Promoter a worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free and transferrable licence to use, reproduce, segment, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display and communicate your Entry in any media. Your Parent also grants us the right to sub-licence the rights under this licence to any third party deemed appropriate by us. To the extent permitted by law, your Parent consents to the Promoter doing anything in relation to the Entry or the communication therein that (but for this consent) would otherwise infringe any moral right or performer’s rights that you might have anywhere in the world. We may promote the competition, including your Entry (in whole or in part), in any media during or after the competition. Promotional material may include the use of all or part of your Entry. All Entries used by Promoter will be credited where appropriate.

17. The personal information you and your Parent provide in entering this competition will be used by the Promoter to conduct the competition and for the purposes set out above in clause 16. By entering this promotion, your Parent consents to the storage of your personal information on the Promoter’s database and the Promoter may use this information for future promotional and marketing purposes regarding the Promoter’s products including contacting you via electronic messaging.  EDUCATION SURVEY 2014 COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Information on how to enter and the prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions of entry. Participation in this competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

2. The Promoter is Sydney Opera House Trust, Bennelong Point, Sydney NSW 2000. (ABN 69 712 101 035), (+612) 9250 7111.

3. Entry is open to residents of Australia who are practising teachers in Australia, over the age of eighteen. Employees and their immediate families of the Promoter and agencies and companies associated with this competition are not eligible to enter.

4. The competition commences on 9am, Monday 23 June 2014 Australian Eastern Standard time (AEST) and will close at 5pm, Friday 18 July 2014 AEST.

5. You may only enter the competition once. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any incomplete or automated entries.  Multiple entries from the same IP address, same email address or from automated competition entry services are invalid.

6. To enter the competition, you must complete the SOH online education survey in full, including your contact details. The SOH online education survey can be accessed in the following ways:(a) Teachers who have elected to receive information from Sydney Opera House Education will be emailed a link to the survey;(b) Teachers who access the survey link on the Sydney Opera House or Kids at the House Facebook pages and(c) Teachers who have been forwarded the link to the survey by teachers from (a) and (b) above; and (d) Teachers who have received a link to the survey from Sydney Opera House Education partner organisations.

7. Winner/s will be drawn at the Sydney Opera House (Level 3, 31 Alfred St, Circular Quay NSW 2000) at 4pm AEST on Monday 21 July 2014.  There are three prizes to be won.  The first three valid entries drawn by the judges will win a prize.  Each prize is aSamsung Galaxy Note 10.1 4G Tablet (2014 Edition) valued at RRP $799.00.  

8. The Promoter’s decision in relation to any aspects of the competition is final and binding on every person who enters and no correspondence will be entered into.

9. The winners will be notified by email and telephone and will be published on the Sydney Opera House website on Tuesday 22 July 2014. If, for any reason, a winner does not claim their prize or the contact details supplied by them were incorrect, the Promoter reserves the right to draw a second chance prize winner on Monday 28 July 2014 and that person will be the prize winner.  

10. If the competition prize is performance tickets, they must be used on the date stipulated and are not redeemable for cash or transferable to any other person or transferable between dates or times.  If the prize is goods, the Promoter is not responsible for providing warranty as to performance of the prize or ongoing support for the prize.

11. Prizes will be sent via standard post or courier to the address provided by the winner or if the prize is performance tickets and the performance is within 10 days from the close of the competition, tickets will be held for collection at the Sydney Opera House Box Office under the winner’s name. TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Information on how to enter and the prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions of entry. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Condition.

3. Entry is open to residents of Australia over the age of eighteen. Employees and their immediate families of the Promoter and agencies and companies associated with this promotion are not eligible to enter the promotion.

4.The competition commences on Tuesday, 1 July 2014 at 00:01 Australian Eastern Daylight time (AEDT) and will close at 1:00 pm Australian Eastern Standard time (AEST) on Tuesday, 30 June 2015 (Term).

5. To enter the competition, participants must pay on with their MasterCard or MasterPass wallet when purchasing Sydney Opera House Tours or Tickets.  Purchases can be made online from sydneyoperahouse.com website or app, over the phone or in person.  An entrant’s full details including name, address, phone number and email address must be given at the time of making the purchase.

6. Anyone using their MasterCard or MasterPass wallet to pay in this way during the Term will automatically be entered into a monthly draw to win a $500 Sydney Opera House voucher.  Each monthly draw will consist of entries received during the period which starts from the later of (a) the commencement date of the competition; or (b) 1:01pm on the Monthly Draw Date for the preceding calendar month,  up until the earlier of (c) 1pm of the relevant Monthly Draw Date; or (d) the competition close as set out in clause 4 above.  To be clear, each monthly draw is a discrete draw and entries from preceding calendar months are not included in that calendar month’s draw.

7. The monthly prize winner will be drawn at the Sydney Opera House, Level 3, Customs House, 31 Alfred St, Circular Quay, Sydney NSW 2000 at 5pm on the last day of each calendar month starting from Tuesday, 1 July 2014 up to and including Tuesday, 30 June 2015 (Monthly Draw Date).  The first valid entry drawn by the judges each month during the Term will win a prize.  The prize is a Sydney Opera House voucher valued at $500.  Total prize pool for the duration of the promotion is $6000.

9. The monthly winner will be notified by email and telephone and will be published on the Sydney Opera House website by the first Wednesday following each Monthly Draw Date. If there are any unclaimed prizes three months after the final draw, the Promoter will seek permission from the relevant authority to conduct a redraw.

6. To enter the competition, you must:
