Sydney Opera House Ticket Terms & Conditions

  1. Attendance at the event is subject to these terms and conditions. Another company may be presenting the performance and this ticket is subject to any conditions for that activity and/or the venue.
  2. If the amount you pay for this ticket is incorrect, Sydney Opera House may cancel this ticket (or the order for this ticket) and refund to you the amount you paid. This applies regardless of whether the error arose due to: (i) an error in a price communicated to you; or if you are able to order a ticket, or a ticket for a performance, that was not supposed to have been released for sale; or (ii) human error or a transactional malfunction of a Sydney Opera House operated system. If Sydney Opera House cancels this ticket, it may offer a replacement ticket to you at the correct price.
  3. Refunds for performance tickets are payable in accordance with the Live Performance Australia Ticketing Code of Practice - Consumer Code. Exchanges for performance tickets or the replacement of lost, stolen or missing tickets may be permitted under certain conditions and fees may apply. Tickets for a cancelled guided tour may be refunded or transferred to another tour.
  4. The right of admission is reserved by the management. Latecomers will not be able to join a tour and may only be admitted to a performance during a suitable break, which could be the first interval (if an interval is scheduled). In some cases, latecomers may not be admitted at all.
  5. Venue access and the route for guided tours are subject to venue availability and rehearsal schedules. Ticket holders must remain with the tour guide and follow instructions. There are 200 to 300 stairs on a tour and flat, rubber soled shoes should be worn.
  6. Advertised programs or tours may be varied without notice. Artists may be added, withdrawn or substituted for performances and the right to vary prices, venues, seating arrangements and audience capacity is reserved.
  7. Any bag or item larger than A4 must be cloaked and may be inspected.
  8. Camera, video and audio recorders may not be used inside Sydney Opera House, unless expressly authorised. Sydney Opera House reserves the right to broadcast or telecast any event. No food or drink is allowed inside a venue unless specified.
  9. Ticket holders enter the venue at their own risk. Sydney Opera house will not be responsible for any loss, damage or injury arising from a pre-existing medical condition or due to breach of these conditions.
  10. This ticket may not, without the prior written consent of Sydney Opera House, be resold for commercial packages or at a premium, nor may it be packaged or used for advertising, promotional or other commercial purposes. If a ticket is sold in breach of this condition, the bearer of the ticket may be refused admission.

 


 

Sydney Opera House Insider Membership Terms and Conditions 

  1. As an Insider Member you are bound by these Terms and Conditions. Application for Insider Membership is deemed to be acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. Sydney Opera House Trust (we or us) has the right to reject any application to participate in the Insider Membership program.
  2. Insider Membership is non-transferable and non-refundable.
  3. Use of the Insider Membership Card is limited to the person named on the card. You may request us to supply an additional card (at a cost of $10) for an additional nominated person who resides at your address. Proof of address may be required at time of application. The additional card will bear the nominee’s name and will allow the nominee to enjoy the Insider Membership benefits offered by us and our friends and partners (excluding the annual free benefits). You will be responsible for the use of the additional card by the additional cardholder.
  4. Sydney Opera House Insider Membership is designed for the benefit of individual patrons of the Sydney Opera House. It is not intended for those representing social, corporate, concierge or tourism organisations and all benefits are not intended for resale individually or as part of a package. As standard, a limit of 10 tickets applies per performance per Insider Membership unless otherwise stipulated. Other limitations may apply including on the number of tickets that can be purchased at a discount or during Super Priority presales may be applied.
  5. Insider Membership may be cancelled, and all benefits of membership revoked, by us at our discretion if we have reason to believe the member is acting contrary to these Terms and Conditions or Sydney Opera House’s Ticket Terms & Conditions and can be viewed at http://www.sydneyoperahouse.com/terms as well as any other applicable terms of use.
  6. We may sometimes add to, change or remove benefits and offers and their associated terms and conditions as well as the provisions of these Insider Membership Terms & Conditions. These offers are subject to change without notice. Details of all changes will be available at http://www.sydneyoperahouse.com/terms.
  7. If we decide to discontinue the Insider Membership Program, you will be notified and we will continue to offer you Insider Membership benefits until your membership expires.
    Insider Membership Cards are and remain the property of Sydney Opera House and must be returned to us on demand.
  8. You need to advise us if your Insider Membership card is lost or stolen. Please contact Insiders at 9250 7750 or email insiders@sydneyoperahouse.com.
  9. You also need to advise us if you change your name, address or other details by contacting us on Insiders at 9250 7750 or email insiders@sydneyoperahouse.com.
  10. We may choose to not enforce some of these terms in some cases. That does not mean that we have waived our rights in respect to those terms. Any waiver by us must be in writing.
  11. If any of these terms cannot be enforced, the remaining terms will survive.
  12. We will use your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy which can be view at sydneyoperahouse.com/privacystatement.
  13. Ticket discounts are offered on selected shows and are subject to change. Ticket Terms & Conditions of sale and entry apply and can be viewed at http://www.sydneyoperahouse.com/terms.
  14. Some third-party benefits are only available at selected shops or on selected products and services. These offers are subject to change without notice. We are not responsible for the performance of third parties in relation to any offer or service. Third-party benefits are correct at time of printing.

SOH STANDARD COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS VALENTINES DAY

 

1. Information on how to enter and the prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions of entry. Participation in this competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

3. Entry is open to residents of Australia over the age of eighteen. Employees and their immediate families of the Promoter and agencies and companies associated with this competition are not eligible to enter.

5. You enter the competition, automatically when you purchase either a Sydney Opera House gift voucher, Insiders Membership or Tour and Tasting plate (one purchase will count as one entry) during the Term. 

6. Winners will be drawn at the Sydney Opera House at 10am on 15 February 2013.  The first four valid entries drawn by the judges will win a prize.

11. The Promoter and companies associated with this promotion will take no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in transit.

 

12. If for any reason this promotion is cancelled or is not capable of running as planned, due to an intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders its determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the event and recommence it from the start on the same conditions subject to State Regulation.

    6. Anyone using their MasterCard to pay in this way during the Term will automatically be entered into a monthly draw to win a $500 Sydney Opera House voucher.  Each monthly draw will include entries received during that month.

3. Entry is open to residents of New South Wales between the ages of 6 and 17 years old. Entrants under 18 years of age require their parent or guardian’s consent. Employees and their immediate families of the Promoter, and agencies and companies associated with this promotion are not eligible to enter the promotion.
4. The competition commences at 7am AEST on 7 April 2012 and will close at 11.59pm AEST on 22 April 2012.
5. You may only enter the competition once. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any incomplete or automated entries.  Multiple entries from the same IP address, same email address or from automated competition entry services are invalid.

4. The competition commences on Wednesday 1st May 2013 9:00am Australian Eastern Standard time and will close at 11.59 pm Australian Eastern Standard time on Sunday 5th May 2013 midnight.

5. You may only enter the competition once. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any incomplete or automated entries.  Multiple entries from the same IP address, same email address or from automated competition entry services are invalid.  

6. To enter the competition, participants need to email their full name, postal address and phone number and any other information requested on the competition page of sydneyoperahouse.com/ideas.

7. Prize winner will be drawn at the Sydney Opera House on Monday 6th May 2013 at 9:00am. The first valid entry drawn by the judges will win a prize.  The prize is two tickets to Stories Then & Now at Carriageworks valued at $70.00. The dates of these tickets may be nominated by the winner (season for the show is 22 – 25 May), but the final date allocated for the winner is based on ticket availability and is at the Promoter’s discretion.

SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE BIG MOMENTS COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

1. Information on how to enter and the prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions of entry. Participation in this competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

2. The Promoter is Sydney Opera House Trust, Bennelong Point, Sydney NSW 2000. ABN 69 712 101 035.

3. Entry is open to residents of Australia over the age of 18. Employees and their immediate families of the Promoter and its agencies and companies associated with this promotion are not eligible to enter.

4. The competition commences on 26 June 2012 and will be split into two segments. The closing date for entry into the first segment will be 5pm Australian Eastern Standard Time on 27 September 2012, with the winner being announced on 28 September 2012. The closing date for the second prize will be on 5pm Australian Eastern Standard Time on 28 February 2013 with the winner being announced shortly afterwards. All entries received from the competition opening date on 26 June 2012 will be automatically entered in the second segment. Winners of the first competition will be published on Promoter’s website with their consent. Two prizes will be awarded to the two winners of the first segment and two prizes will be awarded to the two winners of the second segment.

5. To enter the competition, participants must:

Firstly, Like the Sydney Opera House Facebook page, then:

· Upload their photo of a memorable moment at the Sydney Opera House; and/or their story of a memorable moment at Sydney Opera House in less than 50 words (“Entry”)

· Include the year the photo was taken

· Include their first name, last name, email address and post code

Alternatively, you may submit your entry by email at bigmoments@sydneyoperahouse.com using the entry requirements as in point 5.

You may submit as many memorable photos or stories as you choose.

6. Chance plays no part in determining the winners. The best two (2) valid entries received in the first segment and the next two (2) best entries received from the first and second segment jointly, will be determined by a judge appointed by the Promoter, whose decision is final and binding. Each winner will receive a prize being one (1) table for six (6) people at a special 3 course dinner including food, wine and soft drinks, on the Concert Hall Stage at Sydney Opera House catered for by ARIA on a night during 2013 to be determined by the Promoter and of which date, winners will be given not less than one month’s notice. Transport to and from the dinner and all other costs associated with attending the dinner is the responsibility of the winner.

7. All Entries become the property of the Promoter. Promoter reserves the right to publish the Entries or any part of the Entries in any manner including to promote the Sydney Opera House without seeking the permission of the entrant.

8. Each entrant warrants that s/he is the creator and owner of the Entry and that S/he has full rights in and title to all aspects of the Entry.

9. Each entrant assigns and transfers all right, title and interest in the copyright and other intellectual property rights in the Entry to Promoter.

10. Each entrant waives its moral rights in respect of the Entry and consents to use of the Entry by Promoter without any attribution as to authorship by Promoter. Each entrant waives its moral rights of integrity so that Promoter is free to modify, alter and use the Entry for any purpose and in any manner it chooses.
