Description
The world’s best films, for kids, about kids, even by kids, to amaze and delight kids.
Little Big Shots, Australia's international children’s film festival, returns to Sydney Opera House for its third year in 2008. The most entertaining way to see films from a range of countries, the extensive line-up includes the best Australian and international features, shorts, animations and documentaries, plus extraordinary films made by children themselves.
The festival facilitates discussion of world cultures, different languages, cultural diversity and universal human values. Best of all, Little Big Shots inspires laughter, meaning and creativity. It’s also a great way to help fire up our future filmmakers’ imaginations!
The festival features five repeat sessions for 2-5 year olds.

Reviews
“A unique cinema experience for toddlers to teenagers....promises to entertain, inform and inspire imagination” The Daily Telegraph
"Marcella Bidinost began Little Big Shots in 2005 as she realised there wasn’t much going on at the cinema for children up to the age of 15, apart from big-budget Hollywood films. She felt that there was no arthouse or quality cinema experience for children in Australia. Little Big Shots caught on very quickly and now screens in 19 venues across Australia and Singapore. Of the selection that I viewed, what stood out the most were the kid’s films made by kids. Marcella Bidinost agrees and says that ‘The beauty of children’s films is that they come from an unblemished imagination." Bettina Richter, Journalist for ArtsHub
"We thoroughly enjoyed the excursion to your film festival. The kids absolutely loved it. We are running our own short film festival next term which will we be fun as we are inspired and excited after our excursion." Jackie Mahony, Glendal Primary School
