Three bored Finnish folk are sitting in a lonely hut somewhere in the forest. Having seen tracks in the snow outside, they start telling each other tall tales about wolves. Some are funny, some are eerie, but as the night wears on, they get more and more outrageous. As the stories begin to merge and interlock they soon lose themselves in an imaginary labyrinth.
Wolf Under the Bed is a project based on twelve separate stories about wolves, each written by school students in their hometown of Schaffhausen. With a pulsating live music score, this hugely entertaining production explores imaginary fears and our relationship to the unknown with just the right degree of scare-your-pants-off spookiness!

Wolf under the bed is a completely delightful exploration of the idea of human fear of the big bad beast, as expressed in our relationship with wolves.
The show is set in Finland, where three stolid-looking Finns begin to scare one another with wolf stories. The twist is that the stories have been written by schoolchildren, and are full of the kind of crazy surrealism that only children can bring to the idea of what’s really scary.
Like all the best performers for children, co-directors Nora Vonder Mühll und Stefan Colombo, and wonderful musician Olifr Maurmann, somehow manage to unleash all the huge playful energy of the tales, while remaining reassuringly adult themselves.
