Description

For the first time in over ten years, Rolf Harris returns to Australia to perform live in a Sydney Opera House exclusive!

In the intimate setting of the Playhouse, the 78 year old, iconic Australian artist will present a performance of stories and songs, spanning his recording, stage and television career.

Supported by his band and with rare archival footage to illustrate his anecdotes, Rolf will sing all his classic songs, including Two Little Boys, Jake the Peg, Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport and the hit that reignited his music-chart career in the 1990’s, Stairway to Heaven

Rolf will do his famous texta line drawing… and of course, he will play his legendary wobble board!

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see one of Australia’s best loved artists in a strictly limited season at the Sydney Opera House.

Expect tickets to sell-out fast… so book early to avoid disappointment!

Duration: 2 hours including one interval

Artist list

Rolf Harris enjoys acclaim and enormous affection in Australia and the UK as an artist, performer, television presenter and champion of children, animals and the arts.

He has been awarded the CBE, is a member of the Order of Australia and has won many honours for his work in the entertainment industry.

Rolf has had chart topping hits, written best selling books and has been voted the best entertainer ever at Glastonbury. His paintings have been exhibited in London’s National Gallery and he is an honorary member of the Royal Society of British Artists.

His Animal Hospital series was five times winner of the British National Television Awards. Currently he presents BBC TV shows Rolf Harris’s Star Portraits and Rolf on Art, which made TV history when it gained the highest ever ratings for an art program in the UK. His portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth ll, to celebrate her 80th birthday, was the subject of a program The Queen, by Rolf, which was screened to a record breaking viewing audience on BBC One in 2006.

Rolf is the first artist to be commissioned by the Royal Australian Mint to design the new commemorative one dollar silver kangaroo coin.  When it was launched, special editions of the coin sold out immediately.

Later this year, Scholastic is publishing an illustrated children’s book of Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport; and in the first week of December he will be giving the annual lecture at the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra.

This is a wonderful time to celebrate Rolf’s life and work with his season of intimate shows at the Sydney Opera House!
