Reviews

Angelic and demonic, ethereal and earthy in turn, she constructed every phrase as if she were improvising. Her music dances, swings, jives…exploring every nuance of colour and tone.” www.gbopera.it

“Patricia Kopatchinskaja has made a career out of doing things differently. A violinist of stunning technical gifts, she shuns the virtuoso showpieces of Paganini and Ysaye…Kopatchinskaja has inherited the free-wheeling style of the gipsy violinist (her playing barefoot isn't just a gimmick, it stops her footstomping from interrupting the music). Few soloists can convey the sheer fun of music making of Kopatchinskaja - few performers in any genre seem to have as much fun as she does on stage - and it’s impossible not to be transported by the violinist's pure, manic energy.” Limelight Magazine

“…in international terms, she is second to few in her mastery of her instrument.” The West Australian

“[Kopatchinskaja] is an extraordinary performer…an impish physicality dominates her onstage presence. She seems completely consumed by the music, swaying around and hunching over her instrument as if trying to wring every last drop of emotion from it…she executes virtuosic challenges with spectacular ease and unblemished tonal lustre.”  The Australia
