Sydney Opera House presents
BOXY GEORGE - AUTISM-FRIENDLY PERFORMANCE
Recommended for ages 5- 10
"The children cheer loudly for the magic of the moment." - Politiken, Denmark
On Saturday 6 October, Sydney Opera House will welcome friends, carers and families to a special autism-friendly performance of Sligsby’s Boxy George. The performance has been chosen to ensure everyone is able to enjoy the experience in a supportive, friendly, environment.
ABOUT THE SHOW:
Madsen is alone. His life is simple and he is in control. One day, a box turns up. Soon there are more - and soon they have legs. Before long, Madsen's world is turned upside down. Boxy George is an intimate theatre experience designed for children to share in the delight of puppetry.
For this Teater Refleksion performance, lighting and sound elements will be adjusted to ensure consistency throughout the performance, and front of house staff will be briefed to ensure ease of exit & re-entry to the auditorium if necessary.
To help families prepare for the experience, Sydney Opera House will provide a social story online which takes us step by step towards the performance.
Arrive early to engage in our free Creative Play activities in the Western foyer.
You can download a Social Story (8MB) to help you prepare for the journey to Sydney Opera House.
Date: Saturday 6 October, 12.30pm
Duration: 45 minutes
Tickets: From $29*
