Franz Schubert String Quartet D810 in D minor Death and the Maiden
*World premiere commissioned by Flinders Quartet with the assistance of the City of Port Philip and Red Stitch Actors Theatre
A new play written in collaboration with Red Stitch Actors Theatre which windows in behind the scenes of a chamber music performance, revealing the delicately structured dynamics that can exist between players as they grapple with the intricacies of Schubert's "Death and the Maiden". After interval, Flinders Quartet give a performance of Schubert’s seminal work which will never be heard in the same way again!
