Touring international stages, Boomerang is a unique collaboration of song, language, music and dance, from first nation cultures. This exciting world performance salutes the past and celebrates the future.

Developed for performances at the 2014 Commonwealth Games Festival in Glasgow, this vibrant, exciting collaboration includes the unmistakeable fire belly sounds of bagpipes under laid by the earthy tones from a didgeridoo and taonga puoro while the powerful Haka echoes across the top. Audiences at both Womad (New Plymouth, New Zealand) and Homeground (Sydney Opera House, Australia) have been blown away by this vibrant, powerfully feel good composition. Featuring some of Australia, Scotland and New Zealand’s leading first nation’s musicians and dancers with choreography devised by Megan Henderson (Scotland), Horomona Horo (NZ), Kemara Kennedy (NZ), Scott Morrison (NZ) and Peta Strachan (Aus).

Featuring Aboriginal artists Casey Donovan, Shellie Morris, Songman Djakapurra Munyarryun with Yidaki, maestro Aaron Burarrwanga and former Bangarra Dancer Peta Strachan and her Jannawi Dance Clan. Combined with Scotland’s award winning Gaelic group Breabach, Step Dancers, renowned Maori performers Horomona Horo and Moana & the Tribe featuring Moana Maniapoto.
