Description
A THEATER REFLEKSION PRODUCTION
BOXY GEORGE
Recommended for students in years K - 4
"The children cheer loudly for the magic of the moment.” Politiken, Denmark
Boxy George is an intimate performance designed for young students to experience the intricacy and delightful wonder of puppetry. Madsen is alone. His life is simple and he is in control. One day, a box turns up. Soon there are more – and soon they have legs. Before long, Madsen's world is turned upside down.
Teater Refleksion, the company that brought the acclaimed Goodbye Mr Muffin to Sydney Opera House in 2008, and the sold-out season of Songs From Above in 2011, brings this new work to our stage direct from Denmark.
Students will observe the use of puppets onstage, with the puppet as principal object and medium. The themes of this work are explored in a peaceful, concentrated and immediate atmosphere, creating a space in which children and adults alike can immerse themselves.
