‘… wonderful, in the truest sense of the word – filled with strange and intriguing delight. It’s bursting with images and ideas.’ Realtime, Australia
‘…moving and beautifully staged…’ Lowdown, Australia
‘ a compelling mix of comedy and pathos’ Australian Stage Online
A wily wolf, a cheeky fox and a sweet hare narrate the tale of Helena, a young girl coming to terms with the separate departures of both of her parents. The production beautifully combines puppetry, live music, song and an inventive use of mobile phones to portray Helena as she navigates her way through difficult times.
Helena and the Journey of the Hello takes inspiration from new technologies and the old world charm of illustrated stories to create a highly theatrical production that explores the themes of grief, loneliness and resilience.
Terrapin Puppet Theatre’s enchanting new work is characterised by extraordinary visual design that weaves the audience through the thicket of stories about Helena, her father the opera singer, and her mother who lives in a phone!
