Opera Australia’s Great Opera Hits on a Sunday afternoon are the perfect introduction to opera.
Escape the city, take some time to walk around the harbour’s edge and step inside the Sydney Opera House for an afternoon of excitement, discovery and sheer pleasure. Accompanied by piano, some of the brightest young opera stars in Australia will perform arias from Mozart, Verdi and Puccini in this performance which celebrates the power of the voice.

Road Closures 6 -8 January
Road closures and special event clearways will be in place in the Sydney CBD from Friday 6 to Sunday 8 January 2012 for Festival First Night.
College Street between Park St and St James Rd and the College St Cycleway will be closed from 10am Friday 6 January until 6am Sunday to allow vehicles transporting infrastructure to the event.
Other road closures in the Sydney CBD will be implemented in stages starting from 8pm on Friday 6 January.
All road closures associated with Festival First Night will be in place by 7pm Saturday 7 January. Roads will begin to reopen when the Festival concludes, with all roads in the Sydney CBD reopened by 6am Sunday 8 January.

Sydney Harbour Bridge closed
The Sydney Harbour Bridge will be closed to motorists for up to three weekends in January (13-16, 20-23, 27-30)from 10pm Friday until 5am Monday as the RTA need to waterproof and resurface the bridge deck. The third weekend is set aside in the event of wet weather during the weekends of 13-16 and 20-23 January.
Emergency vehicles will have access across the bridge. Buses, hire cars, motorcycles and taxis will stil be able to use the bridge, however delays are expected.
