Every year we assemble the best young talent from our orchestral training programs, and bring them on stage with their SSO mentors for a concert where the air is electric with youthful energy. In 2014 there's a program to match. Mozart strides onto the stage with a festive opera overture. Beethoven gives us his first 'Grand Symphony' as a 30 year old, ready to take Mozart's spirit and put a very personal stamp on it. And the heart of the program is Schumann's Piano Concerto - dreamy and rhapsodic music that calls for a pianist who can play with virtuoso brilliance, lightness of touch, a singing tone and tenderness of feeling. Music from the tradition of Mozart and Beethoven, but irresistibly Romantic in spirit.

MOZART  La clemenza di Tito: Overture
SCHUMANN  Piano Concerto
BEETHOVEN  Symphony No.1
