Sydney - Tuesday 10 Januaryy, 2017. Morrissey, New Order and The Stone Roses brought the magic of Manchester to the Sydney Opera House. This year, Leicester hits town, as UK super group Kasabian celebrate twenty roaring years and premiere their new album in two Opera House-only shows, Wednesday 8 & Thursday 9 March.

Winners of Q Awards for Best Live Act, frontmen Tom Meighan and Sergio Pizzorno will eschew arenas and stadiums to raise the Concert Hall rafters with anthems like ‘Fire, ‘Club Foot' and ‘Days Are Forgotten' and unheard material from their anticipated 2017 release. Expect to be dancing in the stalls from the opening song and chanting ‘L.S.F’ on the way out.

"The commanding, powerful live force of Kasabian will be something to behold in the Concert Hall," said Ben Marshall, Head of Contemporary Music at Sydney Opera House. "Bringing their spectacle to Australia for just these two performances, expect raucous, rapturous adoration and a triumphant blast of rock 'n roll from one of today's powerhouse live acts."

Kasabian shaped the sound of English rock in the early 2000s with their self-titled debut, a blend of Happy Mondays’ swagger and Oasis-scale showmanship. The next three records – Empire, West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum and Velociraptor! – energised their sound, each peaking at number one. They headlined Glastonbury and Lollapalooza with their latest album 48:13 – which also soared to number one – featuring their new dancefloor sound in ‘eez-eh'.

Four number one albums, a Brit Award, four Q Awards and seven NME Awards later, the rock underdogs will play unreleased anthems and riff-heavy favourites for two nights exclusively at the Opera House.
