Bienvenidos a Danzas Amorosas
"Dances of Love" - a hypnotic, sensual chamber music event, based on the seminal work by Chilean-Australian composer Daniel Rojas, and invoking fertility music of 'Pachamama' Mother Earth, and the voice of 'Taita Wamani', Father Mountain. Alongside are Latin-inspired classics from operatic Verdi, Munro, Gimenez, and familiar salsa, tango, and flamenco.
Artists from all over the world are drawn to the passion, fire, and mystery of Spain and Latin America - the suggestive signals of the body in tango, the pride and horror of war and conquest, the soul-wrenching singing and stamping of flamenco, and the symbols and rituals of indigenous tribes worshipping gods of prosperity and fertility, not to mention the irresistible groove of salsa, danzon, and lambada!
