This event runs for approximately three and a half hours from gates open time, 6pm to 9:30pm. Please note as the concert will be broadcast from 7:30pm, entry after 6:30pm cannot be guaranteed.

Australia Day Live 2023 at Sydney Opera House Terms and Conditions

Ticket Limit: A Maximum 2 tickets per person.  Tickets booked in excess of maximum quantity per person (2 tickets) may be cancelled without notice.

Tickets Required for Entry: This is an all ages event. All children MUST hold a valid ticket and must be accompanied by a ticket-holding parent or legal guardian at all times. It is a requirement that people 15 years and under  be accompanied by an adult at all times. 

Timings and Access: Gates Open from 6pm. Entertainment from 6.30pm. As this is a free event, early arrival is advised. Please note as the concert will be broadcast from 7.30pm, entry after 6.30pm cannot be guaranteed.

Seating: All tickets are Unreserved Seating. Unreserved means seating positions will be available on a first in basis - these positions are not reserved

Filming and Photography of Event Participants – Notice of Consent:
Please note that this performance will be filmed. Audience members face and likeness may be used in video and broadcasting of this show. By accepting this ticket you:

a) acknowledge that you/your child or other invitee may be filmed and/or photographed at the event by or on behalf of the New South Wales Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC) and its approved media;

b) consent, on behalf of yourself and your child or other invitee, to being filmed and/or photographed by or on behalf of DPC and its approved media for purposes in connection with the event;

c) give DPC, its approved media and any other person authorised by DPC the irrevocable right to use, reproduce and distribute these images of you/your child or other invitee (in printed and electronic format and which may be combined with other images, text and graphics) and any visual or audio-visual recordings of you/your child or other invitee in any publication, video, public on-line communication or broadcast issued in connection with the event by or on behalf of DPC or its approved media; and

d) agree, on behalf of yourself and your other invitee, that neither you nor your other invitee will make or bring any claim against DPC, its approved media or other persons acting on DPC’s behalf for any reason relating to these images, visual or audio-visual recordings, publications, videos, on-line communications or broadcasts.

Conditions of Entry: No BYO alcohol, glass, beverages, food. Water in sealed plastic bottles permitted. No umbrellas, strollers, chairs, sparklers, selfie sticks. For a full list of prohibited items please see Conditions of Entry below. BYO cushions permitted. For the safety of all, bag checks will be conducted on entry – your cooperation is appreciated. No cloakroom will be provided.

Event Site Information: This is an outdoor event and the performance will proceed in inclement weather.  Please come prepared with protective clothing and sunscreen if required.

Road Closures: Road closures may be in place. Access to the event will be on foot down Macquarie Street.

Ticket Dispatch: When you claim your tickets, you can either:
• Select the “E-ticket delivery" to receive your tickets via email 3 days prior to the event. The tickets will be located in a PDF attachment. Be sure to print your ticket before the concert or please have your ticket ready for scanning on your mobile device when you arrive at the gates. 
• Select “Hold for Collect” to collect your tickets in person any time from 9am Monday 23 January 2023 up until the evening of the performance from the Main Box Office (open Monday to Sunday from 9:00 to 5pm).  Please note, there may be lengthy queues on Australia Day evening and entry to the event after 6.30pm with or without a ticket cannot be guaranteed.
No tickets will be posted.
If at any stage you are unable to attend, please email bookings@sydneyoperahouse.com or call 02 9250 7777 as soon as possible. We’ll pass your ticket to another lucky person. It would be un-Australian to let others miss out!

Australia Day Live at the Sydney Opera House and spanning Circular Quay showcases our nation’s best musical stars with tributes to our country, combined with a fireworks and maritime show.

As the sun sets on our national day, the Australia Day Live concert showcases musical performances from our nation’s best talent including William Barton, Dami Im, Casey Donovan, Christine Anu and Isaiah Firebrace.

Creative Director, John Foreman OAM will host performers on stage as breathtaking fireworks dazzle the night sky over Circular Quay together with spectacular maritime and aerial displays.

Who are the authorised ticket sellers for this event?

The only authorised agencies for this event is Sydney Opera House.

Only tickets purchased by authorised agencies should be considered reliable.

The Sydney Opera House is the only authorised ticket seller for Events at the Sydney Opera House, unless we specify on our website that there are other authorised ticket sellers for a specific event.

If you purchase tickets from Ticketmaster Resale, Viagogo, Ticketbis, eBay, Gumtree, Tickets Australia or any other unauthorised seller you risk that these tickets are fake, void or have previously been cancelled.

Can I take photos during the event?

We can’t confirm that you can take photos at this event.  Please check with staff when you arrive.

What can I bring with me to the Forecourt?

All ticketholders must present their bags and personal belongings for visual inspection by Sydney Opera House security staff before entering the venue as a safety precaution and condition of entry. Valid photo ID must be presented to purchase a drink from the bar.

To avoid delays, please leave anything larger than an A4 sheet of paper at home.

What time do I need to arrive before the event?

It’s a general admission unreserved standing event so it's a great idea to arrive early and soak up the view. 

If you are collecting your tickets from the Box Office, we recommend doing this well in advance. If you have selected Hold for Collection ticket delivery, you may visit our Box Office from 9am Tuesday 24 January 2023 until the day of the event. You may need photo ID and your order confirmation for ticket collection, most especially when collecting early. Only the ticket-purchaser can collect the tickets, unless you prove your identity and make alternative arrangements by calling 9250 7777 or emailing bookings@sydneyoperahouse.com.

Please be aware that entry after 6.30pm cannot be guaranteed.
