kathy jetñil-kijiner

Kathy Jetñil-Kijiner is a poet who received international acclaim for her performance at the opening of the United Nations Climate Summit in New York in 2014. An angry and brilliant spoken word artist, her writing has been featured by CNN, Huffington Post and National Geographic. Jetñil-Kijiner also co-founded the non-profit Jo-Jikum, dedicated to empowering Marshallese youth to seek solutions to climate change. Her first collection of poetry, Iep Jāltok: Poems from a Marshallese Daughter, was published in 2017.
