get on board with china's feminist awakening

On the eve of International Women’s Day in 2015, five activists were arrested in China for handing out stickers about sexual harassment. They were jailed for 37 days. The Feminist Five caught the world's attention as celebrities campaigned on social media for their release, but this group represents a much larger movement of civil rights lawyers, labor activists, and online warriors. China's young feminist activists bring a message of resistance to the traditional role of wife and mother, posing a threat to the Communist Party's vision of family as foundation of political stability.

Join journalist and scholar Leta Hong Fincher for an electric session on why feminism poses the greatest threat to China’s authoritarian regime today.
