“Is wokeness robbing us of compassion and replacing it with moral superiority?”

Ayishat Akanbi

Have your comfortable views shaken by this electric new voice in cultural commentary

Wiktionary defines wokeness as: "the quality or state of being aware of social justice issues", but Urban Dictionary has updated its definition to "easily offended". Identity, which is at the heart of wokeness, is often regarded as the most fundamental thing we have. But clinging too hard to your identity can lead to an emphasis on what makes us different, rather than what we all might have in common.

Be part of this unmissable session, where stylist and cultural commentator Akanbi considers the radical power of kindness, the limits of identity, the gendered nature of image, and how to transcend the superficial to form meaningful connections.
