Learn the remarkable legacy and artistry of an African cultural tradition

Head wraps have been a staple of African cultures for centuries. Prior to the head wrap gaining its mainstream popularity, it was forcibly transported from Africa to the Americas and Europe, where racist colonial attitudes rendered it a symbol of oppression and slavery. However women refused to be defined like this, and reclaimed the head wrap, defiantly wearing it as a badge of pride and resistance. Over time, it has become synonymous with beauty and power. In this workshop you will learn stylish ways to knot, twist and tie your own head wraps. Tap into your creativity, trust your imagination and wrap with confidence and poise. This workshop is open to all and includes a head wrap by 2 Sydney Stylists to take home.
