Australian Chamber Orchestra

2018 Season

ACO's 2018 Season embraces their collective passion to create music that takes us all to new places.

It’s a journey steeped in history that questions conventions and creates new destinations. A journey where ACO interrogate and reinvigorate established favourites, while continuing to push boundaries with exciting new music.

Richard Tognetti leads this big, melodic, and emotively powerful opening to the ACO’s 2018 season. Featuring music by Tchaikovsky, Brahms and the Brooklyn based composer Missy Mazzoli.
Internationally renowned Russian violinist, Alina Ibragimova, directs the ACO in a program featuring Barber’s sublime Adagio and Schubert’s darkly romantic ‘Death and the Maiden’ quartet arranged for orchestra.
Australia’s beloved world-class operatic success story, Soprano Nicole Car, performs her only orchestral performance in Australia for 2018, celebrating her special voice with works by Mozart, Beethoven and Verdi.
Legendary cellist Steven Isserlis joins Richard Tognetti and the ACO for Shostakovich’s monumental First Cello Concerto along with Haydn’s ‘London’ Symphony.
The Australian Chamber Orchestra presents Bach’s iconic keyboard work in a celebration that brings together the old and the new in an utterly unique and illuminating way.
The Russian violin sensation, Ilya Gringolts, directs the ACO in this dazzling virtuosic display featuring Paganini’s First Violin Concerto, Vivaldi’s Concerto for Violin and 2 Cellos and Bartók’s Divertimento.
For their climatic finale to the 2018 Season, Richard Tognetti and the ACO present an unmissable music event featuring Beethoven’s monumental Violin Concerto and Fifth Symphony.
