L’Hôtel
Join us in the lobby of an opulent hotel for an immersive evening of French finery and food, dripping in old world glamour. Discard any previous notions of burlesque, circus and cabaret, because this hotel’s sensuous staff are much more than they seem…
Leave your inhibitions at the door for a dally with debauchery that rewards the risque. Your reservation awaits for a theatrical tryst with temptation.

The Paris of your dreams is open for check-in
Welcome to L’Hôtel lobby–the glamorous threshold of Paris’ most opulent accommodation. Allow the concierge to check you in, and the maître d'hôtel to escort you to your table, set ready for service with crisp linen and silver. The show’s about to begin.
Top up your glass as the action unfolds around you. Graze on cheese, breadbaskets and butter as cuisine becomes part of the choreography, and peek behind the closed doors to meet the cast of characters who call L’Hôtel home – a crème de la crème of performers from the world of cabaret, burlesque and circus. Starring Brendan Maclean, Caroline Nin and Masha Terentieva, L’Hotel is a triumph from director Craig Ilott and co-creator Stuart Couzens.
L’Hôtel is where live performance merges with food, fashion and design. Take Le Salon tickets for a table in the middle of the action, and sample a sumptuous selection of nibbles and complimentary champagne. If you’d prefer to observe from the safety of the mezzanine, become a Le Voyeur of the action–with or without a vintage monocle. Guests are invited to arrive dressed for the occasion in their finest black-tie couture.
The Paris of your imagining awaits you at L’Hôtel. Check in early, and we know you’ll enjoy your stay–because it’s time to play.
Commissioned by Adelaide Cabaret Festival. Presented by Sydney Opera House.
Dinner and a show...
The immersive L’Hôtel experience extends all the way to the candelit cuisine, and the choreographed servers who become part of the performance.
Choose between two types of tickets. A Le Salon ticket unlocks access to the lobby. Sit amongst the action as the show unfolds around you, and enjoy a complimentary glass of G.H.Mumm champagne on arrival, a French cheese board, and an Éclair for dessert.
If you prefer to watch, your Le Voyeur ticket seats you on the balcony, where you can order nibbles and drinks via our add-on menu.
Vegan and gluten-free options available upon request.

What should I expect when I arrive?
Once the house is open, for our Le Salon guests, you will receive a glass of French champagne as you are escorted to your table. There you will find a French cheese board you can graze on as you witness the hustle and bustle of L’Hôtel. For our Le Voyeur ticketholders, you can expect to be shown to your seat, and choose from a menu of nibbles and drinks at our bar.
What happens if I'm running late?
Due to the immersive nature of this show and movement in the venue, ticketholders who arrive more than 15 minutes after the start of the performance may be unable to enter.
The Front of House team will use their discretion to admit latecomers if and when it is possible. To minimise disruption to the performance and other patrons, latecomers may be seated in a latecomer’s seat rather than their allocated seat.
Will audience members be expected to participate in the show?
L’Hôtel is an immersive experience that will leave you feeling well and truly a part of the night’s events, however there isn’t any specific audience participation.
