World-class precision, power and intellect
Destined for a life in music, Biss was born in Indiana, USA to a family with incredible history. Both parents are violinists, and his paternal step-grandmother was one of the first well-known female cellists, the Russian cellist Raya Garbousova, for whom Samuel Barber wrote his cello concerto.
Now established in his own right as a concert pianist, Biss has performed with major orchestras across the world including with the Los Angeles and New York philharmonics, the London Symphony Orchestra, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Gewandhausorchester Leipzig and many more.
Beyond the stage, Biss has developed a growing legacy as a deep thinker, lecturer and an avid writer, known for his immersive focus on single composers’ work.
This recital will be a true insight into a world-class performer’s knowledge and love for piano repertoire.
