About Sharon Eyal and L-E-V Dance Company

L-E-V Dance Company is renowned as an innovative leader in the thriving Israeli contemporary dance scene. Formed in 2013, the young company has performed in over 200 prestigious and exclusive venues across the globe under the guidance of visionary choreographer Sharon Eyal and creative partner Gai Behar, including the Joyce Theatre (NYC), Sadler's Wells (UK) and the Montpellier Danse Festival.

Founder Sharon Eyal's unique and inspired choreography is a product of her formative years as a performer and artist. Born in Israel, she danced with the Batsheva Dance Company between 1990-2008, and first started choreographing within the framework of the company’s Batsheva Dancers Create project. Following this, Eyal served as associate Artistic Director for Batsheva between 2003-2004 with Ohad Naharin, and as a House Choreographer for the company between 2005-2012. She is internationally recognised as a master of visceral and seductive movement language. In 2013 Eyal launched L-E-V Dance Company with Behar, a respected Tel Aviv-based curator of multidisciplinary art events and her long-time collaborator. The group is known for their work with DJ and musician Ori Lichtik.

Sydney Opera House’s presentation of L-E-V Love Cycle is supported by Production Patron Ezekiel Solomon AM.
