“Mitchell’s extraordinary performance…brings a darker edge to the role he created 20 years ago.”
The Guardian
In a highly anticipated, one-off Concert Hall performance, the audacious John Cameron Mitchell will channel the essence of his glam-rock icon, Hedwig.
In this special cabaret-style show Mitchell will perform the much-loved rock ballads from his cult-classic musical as well as previewing songs from his upcoming musical podcast Anthem. Mitchell’s recent performances have been hailed as alternatively hilarious and harrowing. “With raw spontaneity, he truthfully embodies all of Hedwig's anger, self-pity, bravery and wit.” (AM New York)
So put on some make-up, turn up the eight-track and pull the wig down from the shelf – for a night of post-punk, neo-glam rock – a collective quest for love, hope and identity.

Conceived and created by John Cameron Mitchell, Hedwig and the Angry Inch started out as a drag show at the notorious New York City club “Squeezebox.” From there, Inch gradually evolved into a full-fledged workshop production in 1997. A year later it became an off-Broadway hit, playing in cities worldwide to rave reviews and amassing a cult following. In 2001 Mitchell co-wrote, directed and starred in the big-screen adaptation winning Best Director at Sundance Film Festival and a nomination for a Golden Globe. Thirteen years later, he briefly reprised the role of his beloved Hedwig on Broadway, earning himself a Special Tony Award for his raw performance.
