Sydney’s beloved DJ collective is back to party
It’s been way too long since we were treated to the sounds of Sydney’s legendary Inner West DJ crew, but – at long last – the wait is over. Storming back to kick the city into life, the Mad Racket collective return to Vivid LIVE for a signature night of well rolled, well bowled beats and unexpected grooves in the Sydney Opera House Studio.
Joining Mad Racket’s beloved resident DJs Ken Cloud, Simon Caldwell, Zootie, and Jimmi James will be special guests Steppers, the veteran DJ duo made up of Edseven and Tom Studdy, who’ll be bringing their basement mix of future soul, Afrobeat, UKG, hip-hop, and house; and stunning singer Natalie Slade, whose nu-soul vocals lit up collaborations with the likes of Steve Spacek and Plutonic Lab ahead of her funky debut album, CONTROL, which was produced by Hiatus Kaiyote’s Simon Mavin.
Beginning in 1998 as an anything-goes dance night in Sydney’s Inner West, Mad Racket have been behind some of the city’s most unforgettable club nights, from their long-running Marrickville Bowling Club residency through their iconic Opera House Studio parties and New Year’s Eve events. In 2019, they celebrated 21 years with an ecstatic party on the Northern Broadwalk at Vivid LIVE.
You’ve waited too long for this one. The party starts here.
