Follow Edwina's footsteps...

I lived in the 11th arrondissement, and always stay there when I return, so all of my favourite food and drinks are nearby.

Le Chateaubriand (Avenue Parmentier) is great but incredibly hard to get into – a fantastic fallback is its little sibling restaurant right next door, Le Dauphin.

Septime in rue de Charonne is an excellent little local that has become legendary – the tasting menu is amazing (especially with matching wines).

For those wanting the classic French bistro experience, Bistro Paul Bert in rue Paul Bert remains the best – but make sure you book ahead.

If you miss your Australian coffee, go to Ten Belles in rue de la Grange aux Belles.

For drinks, La Buvette in rue Saint-Maur serves great wine and snacks, or Verre Vole in rue de Lancry is great for canal-side people watching.
