Our newest venue, the Yallamundi Rooms, are designed to accommodate a range of events and includes access to an outdoor space - making the most of the spectacular harbour views.
Utzon Room
Set against the beautiful backdrop of the Utzon tapestry, this space combines elegance, intimacy and eastern harbour views through floor-to-ceiling windows.
Joan Sutherland Theatre Northern Foyers

As Culinary Director, Danielle has developed tailored menus for functions across our venues including intimate cocktail events, corporate networking and gala dinners. The menus draw on her dedication to seasonality and the joy and connection of sharing food, as well as championing local producers.
Frequently asked questions
External catering or self-catering within our venues is not permitted with the exception of a wedding cake. However, please speak with our events specialists for specific permissions in relation to BYO beverage, cakeage and applicable charges.
Within your exclusive spaces there are no restrictions on styling, however, no naked flames are permitted. There are some restrictions on styling external and public spaces. You may use your own suppliers or our Event Partner, Trippas White Group can help you organise styling and theming for your event.
Please speak with our friendly event specialists about any audio-visual requirements. Please note, there is a charge for any audio-visual equipment hire.
Most of the Opera House's venues are accessible and our events team are here to help you with any inquiries you may have.

You can catch public transport (bus, train, ferry) to Circular Quay and enjoy a 6 min walk to the Opera House. If you’re getting dropped off in a car head to the roundabout at the bottom of Macquarie Street where staff will direct you to a safe place to pull over.
Driving? Park in Wilson’s Car Park, you’re just minutes to your venue.

AIEF students flew into Sydney from various communities across Australia to celebrate their graduation at the Opera House, with many visiting Sydney for the first time.

On September 8 2022, Sydney Community Foundation’s Sydney Women’s Fund hosted its flagship event - Saluting Sydney Women - in the Opera House’s Yallamundi Rooms. The Opera House was an iconic and special place for this celebration.
