Sydney – Monday 11 September, 2017. Funnyman Frank Woodley, spectacular dinosaur puppetry and a free interactive art installation will entertain curious and creative minds at the Sydney Opera House these September school holidays.

Frank Woodley – one half of the hilarious comedy duo Lano and Woodley – debuts his first ever children’s comedy show Frank Woodley, Noodlenut in the Playhouse from September 25 - October 8. Having “cleverly matured into the most immature performer in Australian comic history” (Courier Mail), this master of comedy revisits and reenacts his schoolyard days with the rules of tag, dealing with bullies and holding on to those slippery mango pips!

From September 23 – October 8, the Opera House Studio will transform into an eye-popping, inflatable underwater universe. Erth’s Prehistoric Aquarium will take families on an adventure to the bottom of the ancient ocean, exploring an amazing array of aquatic creatures and critters from sea snails, marine reptiles and the prehistoric giants of the sea. Children and families can hold and interact with the lifelike puppets in this immersive theatrical experience, while six lucky audience members will be invited on stage to be a part of the action.

The Opera House’s free Creative Play installations in the Western Foyers have been entertaining little artists for seven years. This September, Stringdom will take up residence as a child-created art installation made entirely from recycled string. Who knows what young minds will create when set free from typical instructions. An artwork? A cubby? Or even a “Stringdom”.

Entertaining curious young explorers? The Junior Adventure Tour takes kids beneath the world-famous sails to discover awe-inspiring sights, learn astounding facts and take part in interactive theatrical games for the whole family. If that’s worked up an appetite, enjoy a delicious child-friendly Junior Lunch by the harbourside at Opera Bar, Opera Kitchen and Portside.

For an Opera House experience they won’t forget, plan a full day with a Junior Day Pack: a Junior Adventure Tour with souvenir photo, Junior Lunch and a ticket to Frank Woodley, Noodlenut.
