Learn writing and narrative skills in fun, creative ways
Each workshop will challenge students to engage with essential components of writing and narrative in fun, creative ways.
The Young King workshop will challenge students to confront moral dilemmas in texts and their own writing, through immersive activities and dramatic tasks.
Explore what makes a compelling character in Creating Characters workshop and inspire students to create suprising characters of their own.
In Planning Plots workshop, provide students with the tools to craft thrilling plots, and introduce them to the fundamental elements of narrative storytelling.

Digital Creative Learning
Connect your class to professional artists and educators without even leaving your classroom! Our interactive, curriculum-driven digital experiences are available every term throughout the school year. Take your students on an exclusive look behind the scenes with one of our digital tours, be inspired by our storytelling workshops, learning something new about Billionaire Boy's best-selling author David Walliams and experience awe-inspiring performances in real time.
All you need is a video conferencing unit! Most schools will have one of two video conference systems in place; Tandberg or Polycom.
If you require technical assistance with your video conferencing facilities, contact your schools’ tech support or alternatively contact our Creative Learning team on 02 9250 7770. NSW DEC schools can also call the DART Connections helpdesk on 02 6884 0241.
Should you discover that the time or date you have previously booked is not suitable, please contact Sydney Opera House Creative Learning on 02 9250 7770 or firstname.lastname@example.org and we will try our best to accommodate you.
Please note that cancellation fees apply for schools who fail to dial-in on the day.
To ensure your students get the most out of the experience, a Teachers’ Resource Pack is available for this program (see the top of the page). We recommend using these resources in advance of your digital excursion.
