The Utzon Room

Sydney Opera House architect Jørn Utzon completed the design for only one interior – now called the Utzon room. This space embodies Utzon’s élan, his vision in harmony with the environment.

Seating just 200, the western wall is adorned with a vibrant tapestry of Utzon’s own design. The ceiling features dramatic concrete beams and the eastern wall is composed of floor to ceiling windows that look across Sydney Harbour to the Botanic Gardens. The Utzon Room hosts frequent chamber music  performances, offering audiences an intimate and uplifting experiences of space, sound and scenery.
