Celebrate New Year’s Eve from beneath our sails in the epochal Bennelong Restaurant. Indulge in French Champagne and canapés on arrival, before feasting on a five-course menu with paired wines overseen by Peter Gilmore prior to revelling in the fireworks and a glass of Champagne at midnight. There will be no access to the Opera House site from midnight on Wednesday 30 December 2020 to approximately 7.30am on Thursday 31 December 2020.
After this time, the Opera House will only be accessible to the general public until 2pm on Thursday 31 December via a security checkpoint at the entrance to the site.
In preparation for New Year’s Eve ticketed events, Opera Bar, Opera Kitchen and Portside will be closed to the general public and tours won’t be running on Thursday 31 December.
The Sydney Opera House Box Office will be open until 2pm on Thursday 31 December.
The Man O’War Steps will be closed from 1.30pm on Thursday 31 December until 1.15am on Friday 1 January.
All visitors transiting through the Opera House site will be subject to bag checks. Prohibited items listed in the Opera House’s Conditions of Entry will not be permitted.
There is no access to the Royal Botanic Gardens or Tarpeian Way via the Opera House site on Thursday 31 December.
