The House After Dark

 

Explore off-limit spaces and secret passageways of the Opera House after all the performers and patrons have gone home as our sold out late-night tour returns for a limited time.

You will have the opportunity to visit some of the Opera House's many venues and theatres however please note the Concert Hall is currently closed as it is undergoing renewal works to improve theatre machinery, acoustics and accessibility.  Click here to learn more about the Concert Hall renewal works.

COVID-safe and tour information

  • The Sydney Opera House is registered as a COVID Safe business with the NSW Government.
  • The Sydney Opera House remains closed under the current NSW Public Health Order. Ticketholders will be contacted directly. We appreciate your ongoing support and understanding.
When we return...
  • Bring and wear a mask. Patrons aged 12 and over attending performances and tours are required to wear a face mask at all times while inside our foyers and theatres, including during the tour.
  • We encourage you to purchase your tour in advance online or via phone where you’ll receive an eTicket. Please bring this with you and present it upon check-in under the Monumental Steps.
  • To help maintain physical distancing, it will be a small group tour.
  • As you move around the Opera House, practise physical distancing (1.5 metres wherever possible) and follow the guidance provided by our staff and signage.
  • If you’ve booked a tour for other people, you are responsible for maintaining the contact details for all of your guests for the purpose of contact tracing, if required.
  • All tour guests will be required to provide their contact details on arrival, signing in via a QR code.
  • There are new COVID-specific conditions of entry for people attending a tour. This includes the circumstances under which you must not attend the Opera House, and what’s required of you when you visit. Please read about them here.

When the lights come down...

See the Opera House as you’ve never seen before – after dark. An exclusive sensory experience when all performers, staff and patrons have gone home. 

There will be stories, shivers and sights along your journey through the unattended and off-limits spaces of the House including the Old Changing Room Corridor and Piano Store.

The witching hour begins with a drink and dessert canapés in our new hidden immersive space. Some dutch courage will be needed before you set off for a night of frights and sights.
