Getting to Sydney Opera House

The Sydney Opera House is located on Bennelong Point at the end of Macquarie Street in Sydney.
Transport
The Sydney Opera House is a six-minute walk to Circular Quay which is regularly served by public buses, trains and ferries.

Passenger drop-off system
Visitors and patrons with limited mobility arriving by taxi or private vehicle will be dropped at the designated area near the Macquarie Street Gatehouse.
Opera House staff are on hand to arrange transfers to the building via a wheelchair-accessible shuttle service.
Please note: The dimension of the wheelchair accessible shuttle is 84cm width x 95cm length x 142cm height. There is a 110kg weight limit.
For those attending evening and weekend performances, an alternative underground drop-off and pick-up point is in operation (as required, based on performance schedule).
Please note the underground drop-off and pick-up point will operate for all evening performances in the Joan Sutherland Theatre and Concert Hall. Alternate accessible assistance is available outside of these times.
Courtesy Bus
A free wheelchair accessible Courtesy Bus operates between Circular Quay and the street level entrance of the Sydney Opera House Western foyer (lift access inside).
Seating is limited and available on a first come, first served basis. Pick up from the pedestrian concourse, opposite Wharf 2 (underneath the Cahill expressway).
Circular Quay Location: It leaves from the vehicle turning circle/parking area on the pedestrian concourse opposite Wharf 2 (underneath the Cahill expressway).

Joan Sutherland Theatre and Concert Hall
- Bus starts 75 minutes before performances and runs continuously for one hour.
- Bus starts 10 minutes after the performance finishes and runs continuously for 45 minutes.
Drama Theatre, Playhouse
- Bus starts 45 minutes before performances and runs continuously for 30 minutes.
- Bus starts 10 minutes after the performance finishes and runs continuously for 30 minutes.
