About the festival

Wild Things is our first-ever international kids festival. A time for kids and grown-ups to unleash their creativity in every corner of our iconic building. We’ve brought together hand-picked stories from around the world, free activations and performances on the Forecourt and creative play workshops.

You’ll see kid-centred art and expression from multiple countries all coming together in one place. It’s a chance to connect with each other, no matter the language or culture and explore the craziest of our imaginations. It’s going to be wild.

A note from our Wild Things Curator:

“Welcome to Sydney Opera House’s  very first international festival for young audiences – Wild Things! We’re really excited to bring you a selection of some of the most beautiful and exciting performances from Australia and around the world, and invite kids and families to hang out with us at the House! You can join us in a theatre to discover new stories or sit outside on our Monumental Steps for shows on the forecourt. When you’re ready to play, we have plenty of creative activities inside and you can also dream and imagine other stories in our giant installation outdoors.

This year we invite companies from Australia, the Netherlands, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Canada, Norway, Taiwan and France, with a special focus on Korea. As we know, it takes a village to raise a child, and it also takes a range of partners and teams to bring you this festival – thank you to all our Sydney Opera House family and partners who have made Wild Things, ROAR!

See you soon, dressed up in your finest going-out costume, at Wild Things!”
