- No booking fees – so you save on every ticket.
- Save on food and drinks with 10% off at Opera Bar, Midden by Mark Olive, and our Theatre Bars^.
- Play host and bring a friend on one of our standard tours (30 Minute or 1 Hour language tours). Your friend will pay but you won’t (must be booked over the phone).
- Go behind the scenes and get an exclusive offer of 20% off our backstage tours (must be booked over the phone).
- Insiders get the VIP treatment with a dedicated Insiders phone number to make bookings or enquiries.
- 10% off at our gift shops when you present your insider members pass.
You can also buy a membership for a friend or family member.

- Current membership benefits are as advised and in email marketing and may be changed from time to time by SOHT in its absolute discretion.
- Gift memberships should be activated within 6 months from the date of purchase, which is the “expiry” date displayed on the gift membership voucher.
- Any unused balance will not be refunded or credited on expiry.
- Memberships and membership vouchers are not able to be returned/refunded or redeemed for cash.
- Additional values cannot be added to an existing membership voucher; however, additional vouchers may be purchased.
- If your order exceeds the amount of your gift membership voucher, you must pay for the balance with cash, cheque, debit or credit card.
- Sydney Opera House reserves the right to close customer accounts and request alternative forms of payment if a gift membership voucher is fraudulently obtained and is used to make purchases.
- Sydney Opera House may provide gift membership voucher purchasers with information about the redemption status of the gift membership.
- Advance or priority access is only available to select performances as advised in the weekly Insiders newsletter. Membership does not guarantee that you will obtain tickets, whether through a member pre-sale or a general public on-sale.
- Sydney Opera House does not accept any liability for lost or stolen gift membership vouchers.
- The Insider membership program is not designed to be used by group bookers. For group bookings please contact our groups department.
- Unless stated otherwise, a limit of 10 tickets per Insider per performance is in place. Tickets bought in excess of ticket limits may be cancelled without notice.
- Membership may be cancelled or suspended without notice in response to activity such as unauthorised resale or unauthorised credit card usage.
Frequently asked questions
You’re an Insider from the moment your payment is processed successfully and you can take advantage of priority tickets and no booking fees straight away. We’ll confirm your membership by sending you a confirmation within 30 mins of your purchase. If you’re buying tickets on our website, make sure you stay logged in so that we know you’re an Insider. We’ll also send you a card within two weeks of signing up – allowing you to access all of the on-site discounts. If you have any issues, contact us on (02) 9250 7750 or email us.
Before your card arrives, you can print your receipt or keep a copy handy on your phone.
We recommend you save your welcome email and the letter which contains your membership number in case you lose your card. If you do lose your card, call or email us confirming your details and we’ll get another one out to you right away.
Make sure you’re logged in and using the same username you used to sign up before purchasing anything on our website. If you’re still having any trouble accessing your priority tickets or you’re getting charged a booking fee let us know and we will try to fix it as soon as possible.
We’ll give you advance notice on as many ticket sales as possible so you get first chance to book before the general public. Your window of opportunity will vary so keep an eye out for our emails – which are generally sent every Tuesday morning. Please note, availability of seats will sometimes be limited.
Insiders have a Super Priority for most Sydney Opera House Presents shows, including most performances at our major festivals - Vivid LIVE, Festival of Dangerous Ideas and All About Women. When third party presenters already have pre-sales agreements in place with other organisations, Insiders will not always have a Super Priority. Super Priority also does not apply to any ticket ballots. Having said that, our team constantly negotiates priorities and timings with other organisations to give Insiders as much access as possible.
To be informed of new priority shows, keep an eye out for the weekly Insiders email. We send it every Tuesday morning. Occasionally we’ll also send you additional offers throughout the week. Make sure that you’re opted in to receive our email marketing or you won’t get your offers. You can do this through My Account.
If you’re logged into the website with your Insiders account, you’ll be able to purchase tickets to any priority access shows available.
When presenting the membership card, you receive a 10% discount with Opera Bar and our Theatre Bars. The discount is not available at Bennelong. Discounts are not valid for private functions of events.
If you’re an existing customer, login to your account in the top right hand corner. Click on the ‘activate your membership’ button and enter your activation code.
If you’re a new customer, you’ll need to register an account. Once you’ve registered an account, click the ‘activate your membership’ link and enter your activation code.

Memberships can be activated over the phone by calling (02) 9250 7750 and quoting your activation code. To activate your membership in person, visit the Sydney Opera House Box Office, located Upper Level at Sydney Opera House.
Memberships are not able to be returned/refunded or redeemed for cash.
Your membership only starts once you have activated it.
